How was Thanksgiving?

Re: How was Thanksgiving?

  • No good stories.  Thanksgiving was great.  I got almost all of my Christmas shopping done.  We just need my eldest niece and E's eldest bro but they are going probably get gift cards so E can pick that up if the baby comes earlier than planned.  We were playing mexican bingo at the ILs and I won so many times I got kicked out.  :(

  • Good... I was invited to my sister's husband's parents' house... so I got to have a family holiday (mom lives in northern Cali, bro lives in PHoenix)... anyway, it was good to experience a big family dinner and to be with my sister. :)

Did a little shopping and then went to my best friend's house on Saturday/today, awesome church service... some interesting and confusing developments in the "boy" area... so we'll see... :)

Hope you all had a great day!

  • Our Thanksgiving went well. Nothing really noteworthy happened except MIL's date (see below post).

We did get our townhouse decorated for Christmas and a good bit of our gift buying done though so I count it as a great week off. :)

  • Nothing too crazy happened here.

We had our big Thanksgiving last weekend with my family. Thursday we went to J's dad's house for a small GTG. We went to Wal-Mart Thursday night to watch the Black Friday shoppers.

Friday I went to breakfast with my mama. Then did some shopping and spent the afternoon with J. We put up our Christmas decorations then headed downtown for dinner and Christmas at the Zoo.

Saturday I went shopping with my best friend, wrapped presents, and finished season 3 of One Tree Hill.

Today I did 4 loads of laundry and sorta watched football. Then J and I ordered in Pizza Hut and relaxed! Oh and I pinned a bunch of recipes on Pinterest that I'm pretty excited to try!

It's been a great weekend! I was supposed to have dinner with one of my old roommates tomorrow, but I don't think that's gonna happen now...which will get my butt in gear to clean house and finish laundry tomorrow.

Hmmm... totally in the "could go either way" area right now... I actually really like him, so that in itself is a miracle... never thought I'd FEEL something for anyone again... but life has happened to both of us and we're scared... so we'll see.... on the positive side... he's open, honest and really wanting to take it slow and that really speaks to me. I'll keep you posted when/if anything concrete happens.

  • Blah - I am so happy Thanksgiving is over. We were planning on announcing our pregnancy at Thanksgiving. It was such a hard day. Even harder to see everyone happy and ok not knowing the pain we were going through.

We made the best of it. We did some shopping. Matt and I spent quality time with Maggie, decorated the house, and we did a lot of sleeping.

I am glad you ladies had nice weekends :)

We did a ton of traveling in Turkey Day. Luckily D slept for the 2 hr drive up and back to R's GPs house. D tried cranberry sauce and apple pie filling there (he stuck his hand on a plate and then right in his mouth). Then to R's other GP's where D GGM let him stick his hand in the cake icing (R cleaned it off before it made it in his mouth). At my Parent's house we gave him a teeny taste of sweet potato pie (like pumpkin pie but not a strong) he could have cared less about that. He wants to eat EVERYTHING we are eating now.

I did not go shopping until Saturday but I got a handful of things so I can make some Christmas presents. Presents are going to be minimal this year, D tightened our budget considerably.

D is tri-pod sitting now! I think this picture is hilarious.

It's called Loteria.  Basically bingo but its all in Spanish.  E's family is fluent so they go super fast and I have to always look at the cards to make sure I'm placing my markers on the right picture!

  • Thanksgiving day started rough due to the ILs not flying out till that morning, but thankfully things had calmed down once dinner began. The meal was wonderful and everyone enjoyed everything I had prepared.

Friday A and I went shopping late night came home and crashed. Then we went shopping w/ his parents, had brunch, and shopped some more! It was the first day of the Christmas Village in Center City so we went there, enjoyed some delicious German treats (the Christmas Village is an authentic German market during the holidays) and took a horse drawn carriage ride around Independence Hall. We then went to Reading Terminal Market and bought some specialty meats for MIL to make A's birthday breakfast that he requested and bought our produce for the week as well as some yummy cookies! Then to the Macy's Charles Dickens Christmas Village. We rode the train and had some entertainment on the train ride home from one of the people who had been at Occupy Philadelphia and had to go home.

Saturday was A's bday! His parents let themselves in and made us breakfast while we slept-in. It was awesome. lol  We went to Peddler's Village and walked around, shopped a little and enjoyed the lights. A got the present he had been wishing for and was very happy w/ us. We went out for a nice bday dinner and then set-up the Christmas tree and other decorations.

Sunday was for recovering from the ILs being here, cleaning up from all the decorations, other random messes, and studying.

  • I love Thanksgiving!

We had a great long weekend and getaway. On Thanksgiving, we had lunch at M's grandmother's then dinner at mine. Yuuuuummmy! I love being with our families like that. M's is so huge though it makes it hard to see people or enjoy it to the fullest because there's 40 or more people crammed in this tiny 1200 sq. ft. House! Then my brothers are always crazy and a hoot until somebody gets mad at somebody... Lol.

Friday through yesterday we were in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We rented a cabin and had a lovely time! Got a little Christmas shopping done, found a few deals on clothes, and ate waaaay too much good food. Yesterday on the way back, M surprised me by stopping at a spa for a couples massage.

Saturday was also M's birthday. He's nothing on birthdays, so I just kept it low key for us...

That is my favorite holiday for real!
