I posted this on Facebook, but now I'm curious if other people believe in this stuff too.
So, this morning, was was making mashed potatoes for lunch today, and I had the potatoes boiling for mashed potatoes (S made the most amazing mashed potatoes and I am going to *try* to make them). I brought the kids into my bedroom to watch the parade and said something about how I hope my potatoes are at least sorta as good as his were. We then heard a crash in the kitchen and when I walked in, his favorite spice was laying on the floor. The cabinet was closed when I left the room and the spice was almost empty so even if it fell in the cabinet, I don't think it is heavy enough to push the door open on it's own.
I think it was S letting me know he is around. So, do you beleive in stuff like that or think people like me are crazy.

Re: clicky: do you believe in spirits/ghosts?
100% yes. I have many stories, but here are a couple. The "red house" my mom grew up in was very haunted, but not in a bad spirits. In the dead of winter you could smell roses, when you walked in. There was a cold spot in the house too. Also my mom says when I was really little I wasn't aloud to go up and down the stairs alone, I always got someone to go with me. Well one night she woke up and I wasn't in bed she went to go find me and I was half way down the stairs. She asked me what I was doing and I said following the lady, and I even described what the lady was wearing and looked like.
My grandpa died in the house my grandma is in now and "he" locks the doors and opens cabinets. She says she has had other stuff happen too but thats the big things.
The house H and I bought I'm not sure about, the lady died in the house, but other than I cant get rid of the moth ball smell haven't really had anything happen. I do feel like if she is here but I think she is looking over us and is friendly. I was really scared to be alone in the house for a while, because I didn't know if she would be mad that we moved in and are updating stuff. Nothing weird yet though as I knock on some wood.
ITA. I'm beginning to think ITA with you on most topics.
I feel the same way about you
I knew we got along for a reason!
Absolutely, without a doubt I believe in ghosts. My parents house in Norman is most certainly haunted - just ask all little kids that go over there and their cats.
Not sure whose spirit lives there but he/she is friendly so we all managed to live together quite nicely.
I am glad Shan was there to help you with the mashed potatoes.
I love this. And as for what I believe, I keep an open mind. Out of curiosity, what was his favorite spice?
greek seasoning. He was the only one who ate it.
my bookshelf!

here's another bit of crazy...
this afternoon, my brother and his fiancee were over helping me move the kids' new beds in. The three of us were in the bedroom (the only other person here was G and she was napping) and we heard the screen door close (which my brother has locked open). Sorta weird, but we thought it was just the wind.
Then, we went back into the bedroom and were talking about whether I am going to stay in this house or move and a music box that S gave me, that was not near any of us, started playing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand."
Then, when we tried to unlock the screen door after my brother locked it open again, none of the three of us could get it to release. My brother's fiancee was messing with it and said outloud "Come on S! Help us out here!" and then it closed.
The more craziness there is around here, the more I believe.
It sounds like he is really making his presence known. Do you think that will influence whether or not you decide to move?
Yes. Part of me wants to stay here because he is everywhere here. Literally. I mean he basically built this house and I like that. I'm also sorta afraid that if his spirit is around, maybe he wouldn't follow us. I know that sounds crazy, but I always feel him in our bedroom, right where he would stand if he came in just to tell me something when I was in there.
But, on the other hand, neither of us ever liked this house. And he really wanted the kids to each have their own bedroom. And he loved our land. And he designed the house we were going to build.
So, really, I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but he will influence my decision for sure!
