homemade Christmas ornaments?
Hello Ladies!
I decided that I want to relieve my aunt and uncle of their parenting duties and babysit my cousins for the evening (along with DH & SIL).
My cousins are 3 & 2 and I wanted to make Christmas ornaments they could create for the tree this year. I remember my mom making a dough-type ornament that we painted one year, but I'm not sure if that is age-appropriate for my cousins. Any ideas?
TIA!
Re: homemade Christmas ornaments?
Salt dough is ok for that age, but it depends on the child. If you have it prepared (rolled out and everything) and they just place the cookie cutters, you should be fine. You can give them each a lump of the dough to play with while you do the rest of the process.
You could also use sticky-back foam for them to make ornaments.

you take shatter proof ornaments and paint the child's hand white and then place the ball on the palm of the hand then wrap the fingers up and turn them into snowmen. You will need to draw the faces on the snowmen but the hand print would be theirs
I made these with students and filled the bottom with white glitter so when the ornament shook the glitter moved around.
I made these with my 3 year old DD and they turned out cute.
