Hair help with PIPs now fixed
This is what my hair looks like now. It might be a tad lighter, but not much. (credit to jodippls for the pic)

Im thinking about getting red highlights Friday like this:

But I don't know if I want to spend the money on full foils right now. I usually do blonde highlights myself, but never red and I really have no idea how these would do and what they're staying power is like. Anyone have any experience with red?
I'm also thinking about going back to the side bangs like this, but a little fuller:

My blunt bangs have gotten so damaged from heat styling and they're hard to control now. What do you think?
Re: Hair help with PIPs now fixed
I really like the look of red highlights with dark hair. Last year I was considering them but the girl that did my hair at the time said they fade pretty quickly. I wound up getting blonde and dark brown.
That being said, you may want to consider how your highlights will look to possible new employers. If you know that funky red highlights are okay with everyone you've applied with, go for it. If you think you might wind up in a more conservative job then you might want to rethink the idea.
No to red highlights. Yes to side bangs.
This is what I was thinking too. I know I'm more conservative than most anyway, but anything that could be considered inappropriate in any office setting (even if it's cool at the jobs you've applied to so far) is probably not the best idea while job searching.
I just googled "natural red highlights" and sorry, but I am not convinced. It's either all over red or "edgy" red highlights. Or this:
I currently have red highlights and I have people tell me they look natural all the time, but they're very thin and scattered, not big and chunky. That being said, I feel like the red faded somewhat and now it's more a mix of red/light brown highlights, which may add to the more natural look. I'm really happy with mine, but I was very clear with my stylist that they needed to look natural.
As for your bangs, I definitely prefer the side bangs.
I did red in college and it wasn't neon looking like those pictures. It was definitely more natural. But yeah, it did seem to fade fairly quickly. It was a box I did at home though, so I don't know if paying more at a salon would give you a longer lasting color. If I do highlights again they will be reddish. I think it can look nice.
FTR, I am not a fan of neon red.
