Re: Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

  • We went out with MIL on Friday around 10:30am. There was 1 GPS of the one we were looking for (for MIL) left in the whole store and snagged it! It is originally $149.99 and we got it for $84.99 (lifetime map updates). MIL got a TV; it was a good price but not an amazing deal.

There don't seem to be many deals today, especially compared to BF. I wonder if things will go more and more on sale as the holiday season goes on.

  • I braved the crowds at Walmart for about 30 minutes before I called it quits.  The place was a nuthouse at 10 and I decided it wasn't worth it.  I used to do the BF thing back when stores opened early in the morning and that was fun but this 10pm thing sucked.  The mob was full of raving lunatics tearing up the video game display before it was even time to start.  I saw that and took off.

The next morning I hit the stores at 6:30 and it was EMPTY!  All of them I went to before noon was calm and like any other normal day.  I ended up scoring on everything I wanted with the exception of a laptop.  I was actually amazed that all the video games I wanted were still available.  I got some new release Kinect games which are normally $49 or so for $15 and $24.99.  I also got some other XBox games that were just released that sell for $59 for $24.99 and $32.  Super score there.  I got quite a few movies and some fun stuff for Suri all at pretty good prices.

I'm mainly excited about the video games.  They are all games I had planned on purchasing at full price eventually so I think I scored with those deals.  Crazy that I didn't even have to go out the night before for them like I thought.

Oh, I also scored at Joann's with some embossing folders that are normally $16 each.  Got them for $2!!  Woohoo me!

As for Cyber Monday.  It's never been my thing so I won't be buying anything because I haven't seen anythng that I can't get at those prices during sales throughout the year.  Plus I have spent way too much.  I bought myself way too many Xmas presents.....shhh.....

  • I didn't go out on BF (I never do) but i am stalking a GPS deal on Amazon today.  I'm debating switching to the iPhone but I'll be sad to lose my Droid navigation so I'm trying to decide if I just want to get the GPS with the deal and if I end up getting another Android, I'll just return it

Ahh, exactly what I am doing, getting an iPhone and saying good bye to Android.  What's the deal on Amazon?  I have never looked into a GPS system.

  • We were at Target at midnight. My mom, brothers GF and I had a blast. There was nothing super huge we were looking for but managed to score some good deals. I got a huge pyrex set for $20 which was totally unplanned but made me happy since I can get rid of all of our plastic garbage now.

I also got myself a bunch of new sweaters - cheap. I didn't buy as many gifts as I would have liked and I missed out on our vacuum.

Apparently there are 2 Sears stores (a department store and a hardware store and it was on sale at the hardware store - we were at the department store and the only had 2.) Sad. It was only $400!

I actually still like the Android OS, but my phone itself is on its way out and I'm not thrilled with the Droid choices on there right now, so we'll see!

I'm looking at a Garmin nuvi GPS - the specific one I'm looking at is like 60% off today and includes lifetime map updates and traffic info

  • I didn't go out on Friday.

I got up Saturday and went to AC moore and used a 25% off everything coupon and I got a UMaine fleece for my brother's FI for half off, for 17 big ones.

I bought my FIL a shirt he wanted from L.L. Bean (yes I realize that I could go the store but going there this time of year is like visiting the 7th layer of hell), I got 10% off and free shipping.

I try to only get things we were planning on buying anyways, I wasn't overly impressed this year with the deals.

  • DH & I went out around 10:00am. We both got 2 pairs of running shoes and DH got some running clothes from a local store. Really great deals there. We also got a winter coat for DH and then he went home and I did some gift shopping. I got a couple really good deals and some ok ones. Around noon I picked up my friend and we had lunch and did some baby shopping. It was busy, but not anything worse than any other weekend in December. People were pleasant and I enjoyed myself.

  • DH and I went out at 7 am to get some wine I get my ILs every year. We walked right in, picked it up and went right out. We also went to Lowe's. It was not that bad.

    Yesterday was a nightmare.....

  • WAHOOOOOO!

I just got Brynnie's kitchen for $78.59 after discounts!

And I got our vacuum for $439. (Well MIL gave me $400 for it and said she would give me more if need be.)

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Oh and I got 5 shutterfly calendars for $42 last night. Normally $22 a piece. :) I seriously love a good deal.

  • Friday we got up normal time and went out to breakfast and then we got the bug and went shopping.

Went to Kohls and got some 600 thread count sheets for $49 and a sport coat for Pat for about the same.  I bought one of their $5 stuffed animals to be over $100 so we got $40 Kohl's cash back.  Pretty good deal essentially getting the sheets and the coat for $70 after the Kohl's cash.

Then we went to JCPenney to get Pat some Stafford shirts that he loves for $10 each.  Pretty good deal and he loves them since they have long arms.

We walked around the mall and I got some stuff at Body Shop (which is finally back in our mall) and then we went home.

Saturday we did the craft fair thing and got a gorgeous hand painted bowl for MIL.  We spent a small fortune on it and more than I think she deserves, but I'm always a sucker for a nice gift for someone.

Today I've bought my Dad the Dremel Max Saw that was pretty cheap and free shipping and I bought myself the two rocking chairs I wanted for our front porch which were the cheapest I've seen since I started stalking them and 15% off and free shipping!

  • I had a blast shopping on Thursday/Friday. We left my aunt's house at 9pm on Thursday. It was my aunt, her daughter, and me. Got to Walmart by 9:30ish and it was a mad house. Oh boy! Only stayed there long enought to look at the movies and games and we left. But just doing that took over an hour. We then went to Younkers and waited until they open up at midnight.

I got really good deals on sweaters for me and Lacey. Not much eles. Next was off to Kohl's. Oh my!! What the deals. I got more clothes for me. They were like 60% and then I got an additional 15% off my bill. It was great.

Target was next where I got the kids most of their christmas gifts at. And they were really busy when we 1st got there and then within 1/2 hour the store was empty. I couldn't believe it.

Next we went to Fleet Farm they had snow boots for the kids really cheap and of course I found more stuff to buy.

Our last store we went to was Menards. OMG!! we got there maybe 45 minutes after the store opened and the check out line was all the way to the back of the store. Well needless to say we just walked out.

And I am finished shopping!! I am still debating on getting Garett another gift or not..

I love shopping on Black Friday
