Bowies- I thought you would appreciate this

Re: Bowies- I thought you would appreciate this

  • I agree and disagree with that assessment.  LSU is definitely number 1, but I fail to see how Tennessee wasn't number 2.

    ::Sips on my Gatorade::

    This is my siggy.
  • lol! Yes, the order of things was somewhat off.

An LSU fan wants to watch the SEC champs with us. Crying  I am willing to bet good money that he will suggest going to the LSU bar for it, too. Ummm... Thanks, but no thanks.

I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns

Heh, yeah....no.  I remember watching the National Championship with a group of Buckeyes.  They took it on the chin like champs.

Bowies- are you a gator fan???

And personally, I think Georgia Tech should be on there. Ugh. But then again, I guess they're not a "big league" team.

lol. How could you tell? Was it the gatorade or the fact that she thinks UT fans are the second most obnoxious?  FTR, she probably actually thinks it's UGA that earned #2, but she's too nice to say so. Wink

Bowies, you have to have balls to hang out with OSU fans when they are clearly going down.

Would it really be so wrong if I convince H to blow his friend off for this game? He is an azz about my team even when we are not in direct competition.

  • A few "notes" on this article-

    - I don't see Ol' Miss as being rude. I don't understand why they're on there. Yeah, OK, I can see having an issue with the confederate flag (I won't state my stance on here since we're talking football) but overall I've had an amazing experience with Ol Miss fans.

-I'm a Georgia Bulldawg (gotta spell it right!) fan. My Mom was going to games while pregnant with me. And I think 95% of our fanbase is actually compromised of decent human beings. The other 5% are HORRIBLE drunken morons that I want to smack the sh!t out of. I seriously feel like I have to be extra nice to make up for those idiots. Sadly, those few earned us a spot on here. Urgh. For the record- true Dawg fans hate those idjits.

    - One "tradition" that I HATE in College football is booing the opposing team. Seriously? They're friggin kids. Get your head out of your as$. Wanna boo someone? Boo the refs. You should be so busy cheering for your own team, you don't have time to boo the other team.

    - I can not stand LSU. Their team is filled with nothing but thugs and I place the blame on the coaches. Yes, the kids are responsible for their own actions- however, the coaching staff does NOTHING to reign them in. NOTHING! They're teens/young adults who are away from home for the first time and testing their boundries. No, the coaching staff shouldn't hold their hands. They should however, punish them when the f up.

    - Georgia has a reputation for "thugs" as well (Thank you Crowell. Butthead). However it's because we confront the problem head on. Georgia & Kentucky are the only two SEC schools that have a penalty for the first time a player has a positive drug test. Coach Richt doesn't push it under the rug when his players do something stupid- he makes them deal with the consequences. And he WILL kick them off the team, or make them sit their a$s on the bench when they fail a drug test.

And now I'll step down off my soap box...sorry. I'm a little too heated. haha

You do realize how funny your notes are, considering that that article calls us defensive, right?  (not that I disagree with them-- your notes, I mean)

LMAO! Yup. I'm very defensive. Especially over "my boys" haha

ETA- I will say it's all in fun though. It's a game- it's not the end of the world if we loose, and when we win I won't make a big deal over it. I love football because it's FUN! I enjoy the rivalries and watching the boys out on the field playing their hearts out. A Georgia game is the only place where an adult can bark like a dog without being committed. I love every single part of a game day. Win or loose I still bleed red and black and I love every minute of it.

  • I've never had a run-in with a "bad" Georgia fan.  The back-and-forth has always been good-natured.  Tennessee though, ugh.  When I was in college some Tennessee fans crashed a Gator victory party and killed a couple of guys.  I know I shouldn't judge a whole fan base by a couple of people, but I just can't help it in that case.

I also remember a run-in with some LSU fans back in college.  Older group of people from some backwater town - they decided someone's front yard (obviously Gator fans) made a good tailgating spot.  The homeowners told them to pack up and leave and the LSU fans became so irate that they called the cops to protest getting thrown off private property.  Yep, LSU fans: not only the trashiest, but the dumbest too.

I'm shocked USC wasn't higher on this list, and that Notre Dame didn't make it all.  Those are the only other teams I outright despise.  Well, and FSU for obvious reasons, though the passion has burned out over the years.  It's hard to hate on an ACC team.  They're all so meh.

    This is my siggy.

The bolded is horrible! Oh my goodness- I'm so sorry that happened. :-( I can't imagine what would make people do that.

As for LSU- LMAO! That's hilarious!!

And yea, ACC is hard to hate on. But I still can't stand Tech. Honestly, the only run in's that I've had with fans that I recall have been with Georgia Tech fans.

I say recall because apparently as a child I told a few people off...my Dad loves telling the story of leaving a FL game after we won. I was sitting on his shoulders and a FL fan ran up to us, got in my face and yelled "Go Gators!" I looked at him with all the attitude a 5 year old girl could muster (which was apparently a lot) and informed him we were Dawg fans. I don't remember this incident, but my Dad loves telling it to anyone and everyone who will listen.

  • That's really terrible, Bowies. Most of my UT run-ins have been fairly friendly, but I grew up in TN, so I've always been surrounded by them. I saw a funny recently: There's the good, the bad, and the lost to Kentucky.  lol!

YES, South Carolina fans are soooo obnoxious. Whoever chose that mascot knew what he was doing.  Ugh.

My uncle is a SC fan. He fits the sterotype. Love him because he's family, but he's a cocky SOB. (And yes, he gets told this to his face)
