Ok so this may be TMI, but this is the only board I considered for this problem. Maybe you can help. I have very bad hormonal issues. Which cause alot of problems with my cycle. I have been on my lady time for twelve days. On top of this is think I am getting a UTI. I know I need to see a doctor. The last Gyno I went to said she thought I have endemeatriosis (I know I spelled that wrong). I was a peemie baby I was told this could factor in my problems. I have had one cyst burst. Also I am on BCP so I just don't see why this is happening. I wasn't supposed to start for another month. Have any of you gone through this? If so what was it? Does it ever get better? Please any advice would be great. TIA. Have a great day:).
Re: Problems...
you weren't supposed to start what for another month? sorry i am a little confused.
i would definitely be calling my dr to get in with a 12 day period especially being on birth control.
if you're really worried, call your doctor's nurse triage line- they can help you determine if its something you need to get in right away for or if its non urgent.
but i will say if you are bleeding through more than one pad per hour or are passing large clots, i'd be calling the dr. right away!
is your period 12 days long every month?
It's called a period or menstruation; your cycle is the entire menstrual cycle (period to period, not just the days you bleed). I'd call the doctor if your period is now 3x as long as it usually is.
well yeah def. call your doctor.
in the meantime - is this twelve day period an actual period or is it spotting? spotting and even light bleeding is normal if you've recently started seasonique or if you miss a pill that could happen also.
with a lot of these "no period" bc pills, missing even one pill even if you continue taking them regularly can sometimes trigger you to get your period. but def. call your doctor.
A 12 day long period is not normal.
Your period should run perhaps a week max.
See a doc immediately --- you've got a hormonal problem, a thyroid problem or perhaps a problem with endometiosis or a fibroid. And it also can indicate a problem with the lining of your uterus, the endometrium.
12 day long periods can also put a big stress on your bone marrow; you are losing too much iron and that'll drop your hemoglobin.
This problem will not improve on its own -- and you also need another doc. Endometriosis needs to be an issue that is watched and monitored.
Your doc should have performed a transvaginal ultrasound and a hysteroscopy. You probably also need the contents of your uterus biopsied.
Google endometriosis -- a patient with knowledge is a smart one.
SOmetimes a doc won't be able to diagnose endometriosis until there's an exploratory laparotomy -- get another doc and if you don't like his or her opinion, see another.
I know of what I speak. I saw 5 docs until one got down to the bottom of my problem. Good luck.
:slams head on desk:
Holy cow...didn't they tell you what the problem is caused by? Blood in your urine -- how much??? Does your urine look reddish when you void?
This is something that needs to be followed up on -- it could be caused by a UTI, a kidney stone.
Why aren't you on his insurance? Does it have to do with open enrollment time?
Damn them all....when people really need health insurance, they can't get damn jack sh!t. I can't begin to tell you what I think of the health insurance cartel. It wouldn't be permitted in mixed company.
Checked out after 'lady time'.
It's called a PERIOD.
Uhm if you are looking into Tricare your H must be military. Is he active duty? Do you have and ID card and hence registered in the DEERS system? If the answer to all of these questions is yes then you have Tricare already. If you live near a military hospital go there, it will be free. If you go to a civilian doc it can be more of a PITA but for the love of your reproductive system get yourself to a useful doctor! Hematuria is simply a term for blood in your urine. It is not a diagnosis, simply a symptom. Good luck.
Heme= blood uria = pertaining to urine.
I'd keep a close monitor on your condition if I were you --- drink lots of water; a cranberry pill a day does wonders to keep away UTIs and kidney infections.
