I've been having a rough day today. Ugh.
1. The tree farm is officially closed for the season. If you don't remember, DH's Bipolar/drug addict uncle (legit diagnosis of bipolar disorder, I'm not just throwing it around) fired DH from the farm on Christmas Eve last year. Uncle hasn't done one thing to the farm the whole year, so it is way too dangerous/not ready to open this year. All Uncle did was put up some orange cones in the driveway. We live across the street, so all weekend we had to watch people park outside, walk up to DH's grandmother's door and have no clue what was going on. There was so much traffic at one point. It was heart breaking to watch. The farm has been open for 50 years, and people have made it their tradition. Ugh. I want to just yell at Uncle. Only he's never around because he's doing coke/ paying for a hooker.
2. I seriously can't wait to move. We're finally getting the ball rolling, and we've even set on a house. However, it's a difficult situation (not a short sale), and the roof has to be done prior to closing so we can get a loan. We're in the process of figuring out if it's something the seller would be able to do before we put in an official offer. If everything went through, we would have a beautifully low mortgage in a cute neighborhood. I just feel like everything takes forever.
3. I also mentally need a gym membership so I can just go and veg and work out. I am starting to violently hate running on our roads, and I can't get a membership since we don't know where we will be living.
Ughhh. Add this to the first world problems post. I feel like I suck at life for even complaining about this ***.
Thanks for listening.
Re: I need to vent for a sec...
1) I am so sorry to hear that he has run the place into the ground, especially since it's been a part of the family (and community) for so long. That has to be really disheartening for your DH
2) If it needs a new roof you would usually write that into your offer (i.e. sale is contingent upon completion of a new roof) and that way you have a contract on the house but the sale won't close until it is completed. That also gives you time to have a formal inspection done and have the seller fix that stuff also. If they won't, you can usually get away with subtracting the cost of fixing the house from your offer.
3) I am getting sick of running my route as well. I need to shake up the fitness thing because I am in a major rut.
Hopefully things start looking up. I hate crappy days because everything just seems to compound!
What an inconsiderate jackass. That's just terrible.
ETA: The Nest doesn't censor jackass? Good to know.

Melko said it very eloquently, but I like the bluntness of this. I'm so sorry that he has ruined that tradition for y'all.

1) I'm so sorry to hear this. It sucks that he's such an a**hole. It does seem like everything when buying a house takes forever, but it will be so worth it!
2) Hopefully they fix up the roof so you can put in a solid offer and get a mortgage. It sucks when you find a great house and there's one thing standing in your way.
3) I understand. Is there a general area where you can start looking for a gym so at least it's a quick process once you move?
Thanks ladies, I appreciate it.
Lilbit: I have the exact gym and membership price already
It's about a two minute drive from this house...awesome!
You definitely don't suck at life!!
First off, your H's uncle is a giant jagbag, and I'm so sorry your family and community are the ones who have to suffer for it. Well, and maybe the hookers, too...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your house - that's so exciting! Keep us posted!!
I haven't run in a week; I feel you. I need the peace of mind of a good workout. Hang in there - I have a feeling all this temporary discomfort will lead to long-term awesomeness!
