Are you making your own Christmas Cards?
Re: Are you making your own Christmas Cards?
I haven't decided if I'm going to, it will depend how motivated I am once student teaching ends next week. Last year I made them using my Cricut and did a variety of designs. If I make them this year they will mostly likely all look the same.
Here's one of the cards that I made last year: http://diaryofasundaycrafter.blogspot.com/2010/12/santa-christmas-card.html
yes. I picked up a pack of pre-folded cards with envelopes by recollections from Michael's for 2.50 for a pack of 25. They are 3 colors (teal, aqua, and turquoise)
I am going to cut rectangles and emboss them with the cuttlebug snow flake folder. I'm going to cut a fancy shape to stamp Merry Christmas and heat emboss it with this beautiful tiffany blue glitter embossing powder. They are going to be pretty simple this year.

Yep, designed them on Walmart.com's photo site all by myself
A LONG time ago, I used to make my own cards--but now, I go the cheap and easy way out with photo cards.

I am using my Big Shots and one of their snowflake embossing plates, but using it as letterpress with ink. Attaching that on top of another card with a hand written message.
For a card exchange group, I am making a small. tatted snowflake to put on the same cards.
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
Mine are going to be simple this year.
I bought white pre-folded cards from Hobby Lobby for 50% off. (3.50 for 50.) I have cut out the word "Merry" and the word "Cheer" with my cricut using the opposite attracts cartridge so that is in script.
I will use the words as a mask on the cards and use Studio Calico's mister huey in pickle color to leave the negative imagine on the white card. That way I only have to cut the words once (maybe twice if they start to get worn out from the mist). I may even mist with a glimmer mist to add some flair.

Never too late
Remember, most drug stores and Walmart can crank those babies out in an hour if you need them fast (not saying that I have ever needed that service or anything!)

Yeah.... but they need to be sent to England, Thailand, Canada and Australia!! Oh well... if they end up as happy new year cards that's just the way it goes! DS was way to grumpy for a decent pic today anyway.... let's hope he cheers up this week
But thanks for the tip.... I may well go to a drug store as oppose to online if it gets too late to get them out at any time soon!
I have made mine- I used the same paper collection but slightly different variations on each card. Here is the picture of some of mine:
I have a Christmas letter inside with pics of our son, but none on the front of the card.
These are really cute! Great job!
