When was the last time...
... your DH did something out-of-the-blue nice for you? Something unexpected, not just out of the ordinary like cleaning the kitchen if he usually doesn't.
Re: When was the last time...
DH has been super wonderful the past month or so (really, the whole pregnancy). He has pretty much taken over Nolan-duty when he gets home, he cooks 95% of the time (and cleans up!), etc. I feel very lucky.
BUT, as far as just doing something just for ME (without me asking- like for a backrub), I can't even remember the last time and that makes me sad.
The Christmas Countdown post inspired this, btw. I wish he would do something like that for ME!
Our crazy, wonderful life
About 2 weeks ago he sent 2 dozen long stem roses to my work. They got delivered in the middle of one of my classes and I think I turned about as red as the roses! That's the first time he's sent me flowers completely randomly (not an anniversary/birthday/valentines, etc).

Not something big, but the Christmas tree lights were on when I came home. DH would normally never turn them on himself, and would typically request/simply turn them off during the evening anyway.
Bigger than that? Who knows...
Hmmm....DH does more of the small things. Like he knows I'm sick so he actually made Jane's food for daycare the last two nights without my asking. I am more the big gesture or out-of-the-blue one (like he'd never think to do the Christmas countdown thing).
Last really unexpected thing I'll say a few Christmases ago he gave me a trip to Chicago that he completely planned.
This is totally us & how we work.
Although I do have to say that he did come through with the Christmas countdown.... he was home with Mads yesterday & apparently filled out all of the cards during her nap. He was SO excited to show me when I came home.... it was really sweet
But usually, like Jim its more so the making her lunch of folding laundry or other little things that he knows will just help.
