airline deals

Hey if anyone sees any good airline deals (sw, etc.) can you give me a heads up. I never seem to get the emails from Southwest advertising their specials.  I am trying to find a cheap flight to vegas for Feb. travel.

Re: airline deals

  • Southwest JUST sent out an email tonight for their cyber Monday deals. Airfare starting at $59 one way.

  • I watched these for months.. the lowest I saw from SW was 99 one way to LAS.  The prices would change throughout the day sometimes... just have to watch it.  If you see below 200 just get it because that was the lowest I saw.

It seems like SW has a good deal when you bundle hotel and airfare.   NOVBIGDAY1 is a code they sent me for $50 off vacation package.

SW airlines vacations has an additional 2.5% back on ebates.  http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=5ClD%2Fun6H4owHaxF0DciDQ%3D%3D

United Airlines vacations had some good deals too.   Too tired to look on ebates to see what you get back or if they are on there too.   Double up on ebates and coupon codes.

Priceline was a waste of time for me with room bidding and airline tickets. betterbidding.com was good to watch if you are going to go that route with hotel rooms.

  • SW also has this thing called DING which you download on your computer and it tells you the specials from your airport...
  • Try kayak.com. It gives a comparison of several travel sites. FWIW, Southwest was significantly more expensive than other airlines to Vegas. DH & I are headed there in two weeks...our airfare was $175 roundtrip vs. Southwest was $350+. We've had the best luck overall with Frontier.

  • Another thing I just remembered... some airlines charge for bags and others do not.  Factor that into your cost....
