Were you spoiled as a kid?
I was an only child, so I don't know if that counts as being spoiled or my parents not having to spend money on other children

Yes, very much. So was my sister though.
I tell DH he's lucky that while my parents spoiled me, I still ended up with a good head on my shoulders.

What Brie said and the other only children said. But with with a slight change, I have to say I was very spoiled. But a lot of times I did have to work for it and I always appreciated everything. It was my mom who did the spoiling, my dad grew up with zero and while he wanted me to have what he didn't have, he was still the one to say no a lot.
*being as spoiled as I was doesn't mean my parents had money. I found out in college that my mom was way in debt because of the spoiling so it makes me feel bad now.
With my mom, maybe just a tiny bit. She had no money but wanted us to have a good life. Im sure the fact that she was sick made her feel this way even more since she knew she wouldn't be there to always give. With my father absolutely not. I never got anything. I bought most of my own clothes at 12. They wouldn't even drive me to a friend's house. Don't get me going.

As a kid, no. My parents were broke with 3 small kids. My dad was a cop and my mom was a waitress.
But my dad got promoted fairly quickly and they made a lot more money and invested well. I was definitely a spoiled teenager! Heck, they still spoil both of my sisters and me. We didn't really take it for granted though, we were always really thankful for everything since we didn't start out with a whole lot.
