Re: The Sing Off FINALE *spoilers*

  • So so so so so so so so so so so happy.  So happy.

    Yay Pentatonix!!!!!

Can't wait until they bring some of these groups to Nashville for a concert, cause last year's was awesome.

  • they deserved to win.

urban method in the top three?? TOTALLY RIGGED.

now who's excited for the christmas special next week??

  • I wouldn't say it was rigged, but they definitely didn't deserve to be there.  And their performance last night proved why.  It was awful.

I am, I am soo excited for next week! And, I agree on the rigging part. They did not deserve to be in the top 3 at all.

  • I'm really glad pentatonix won! But I hope that the guy from Dartmouth Aires also gets some kind of contract because he is awesome.

I wouldn't say it's completely rigged, but I think the judges have to take into consideration what would sell in the current market and there would be more of a market for an Urban Method type group than some of the other groups. I don't think a college acappella group with 20 guys in it is going to translate well to a record....

  • Woo Pentatonix! I'd love to see them (and several of the other groups) live. Smile

  • geez, I don't think Urban Method is THAT bad.  They were very unique, I loved the rappapella spin on things.  I think to say it was rigged is a little harsh.

I do love me some Pentatonix and was SO thrilled to see them win.  I can't wait to buy their music!

And I agree about Michael from the Aires, I'm hoping a record company will pick him up, he's so good, such a unique voice.

  • I'm happy with the outcome, and I'm excited about next week's show.  I totally would buy "Natural Woman" from last nights' show--I thought the arrangement was great and the ladies sounded so cohesive.

I think he sounds very similar to the lead in Blood Sweat and Tears most famous songs.

  • Not surprising at all since Pentatonix was definitely the superior group for most of the competition.... I still don't think they are in the same league as Nota and Committed, though!
  • I was so happy it was Pentatonix!
  • Also, the teeny bopper in me went weak in the knees during Nick Lachey's performance... I guess I still love him.

I'm excited for the Christmas special next week! I'm hoping Shawn will perform, but I know he's performing with Boyz II Men again so he may not be able to sing without them due to his contract. Boo.

to me, having ONE guy who raps (who is also the only really talented one in your group, minus your bass) does not make you unique. it makes you a mediocre group, with mediocre leads, and a rapper.

As finale shows go, I thought this one was pretty bad until the ladies sang this.  Maybe the sound was off on my TV, but I thought a lot of the performances (especially those with the judges) just didn't sound great.

yes, but a rapper in an a capella group at all is pretty unique.  And they arranged non-rap songs like White Snake and The Way You Make Me Feel to highlight his talent.  And he's a really good rapper.  And the girls started off rough, but I think mediocre is a little harsh.  I'm not saying they should have won, but I think saying they suck is a little unfair.

I try to be positive with my comments, but I whole heartedly agree with the above statement.  I thought the rest of the show was very "eh" up until the ladies sang.  I didn't think the guys did as well--and I almost think the producers should have had the guys go first and then finish with the ladies--since it was so soulful and moving.

Yessssssss!  I squealed.  And his was the best judges performance, too.  Ben is an incredible performer and singer, but it felt like his voice wasn't up to snuff like it should have been.

I agree about the ladies' song, too.  The dude's song was terrible.

I think Michael from the Aires should go to Broadway.  Or find his way into a movie musical.  He's so ridonkulously awesome.

I agree. He has a unique way of singing and he just sounded off. I love him still though!

Is it bad I still knew all the words to the 98 degrees song?

No, I remembered them too so I think that means we have great memories. And we're awesome.
