Has anyone gotten the Kindle Fire yet?
Thinking about getting it for my Mom for Christmas and wanted to know your thoughts.
I have the iPad and I know that she really wouldn't use it like I do; but was thinking the Fire might be better for her.
What are your thoughts?

So Tasty, So Yummy
I had one and returned it. I already have a Kindle that I use for reading that I love, but I wasn't thrilled with the Kindle.
For the Web surfing it was too small and I kept dropping my WiFi connection. It wouldn't remember my password so I would have to go to the Settings Menu every time I wanted to access the internet. And if I used it to check email, I had problems with the scrolling.
Overall, I rather keep my Kindle that is just an e-reader and have an Android tablet for all the other stuff if I don't want the expense of an iPad.
DH has an iPad2 and I now have an Acer tablet on the way for me to poke around on in the evening when I don't want to drag out the laptop (which has almost no battery life).

18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

Which Kindle do you have? I think FI is looking at a Fire for me for Christmas, and I keep telling him "I have an iPad, I have a laptop, I don't NEED anything else with internet access!" I'm trying to convince him that it is NOT worth it to me to have all that and all I want to do is read a book, finish it, and buy another (or DL from the library). Help me convince him that the fire isn't what I need!

In my opinion, if you have an iPad and a laptop you definitely don't need a Kindle Fire. I have the Kindle Keyboard and I love it. I like that it isn't backlit, so it is more like reading an actual book and it doesn't bother my eyes. I look at a computer screen all day, so it is nice to come home and read what looks like an actual paper book. I don't look at magazines on it, but to me it is too small to do that. You could actually do that using an e-reader app on your iPad. I love how easy it is to take my books with me on vacation, to the doctor's office, etc. I just wanted an electronic, portable way to read books. To me the other features weren't worth it.

I really wanted one. Until I found out it was only WiFi. My job and parents home have no wifi.
I considered a wireless card and cancelling our home internet but heard those can be glitchy.
