Re: new years resolutions

  • I've been thinking about them.

This is what I want to do:

    1. Get back to my wedding weight (6lbs away)

    2. Buy our forever house

    3. Pay off H's largest student loan

I haven't really given it much thought in terms of it being a new years resolution but I have some goals for 2012 just b/c of the baby comming.

That totally sucks. Do you get short term disability at least?

  • The big one is start saving for a down payment on a house. Or at least to have money to move in August, even if it's just a rental home. Another goal is to move closer to family when our lease is up, we were thinking Bothell or Kirkland.

We've already started cutting costs which I'm really happy about. I've already saved around $100 a month by taking out cable and some other things. Yay!

  • I'm not really sure you'd call it a resolution, but I'm looking for a job starting in January. I would prefer part-time, but I'm open to anything if it's the right job. We want to get school loans and our car paid down, and money saved to move again.

I picked up a book called "The Happiness Project" that talked a lot about things that the author did to try and improve her well being, as well as the research around happiness. I think I'm going to go through it this winter and find the pieces of it that I want to adopt for my own life.

  • I don't really do new years resolutions.. but for 2012, I decided that I'm only going to read books that I already own. That is the closest to a resolution for me.

  • haven't really thought about it yet. weight-loss is always a goal, but i don't know what a realistic goal would be yet this year....

don't know what else would be a good goal.....talk more on the phone? i miss phone conversations (versus texting).

  • The only resolution I'll be doing is to eat salad at least three times a week.  I was really good about doing it before the wedding, but I've fallen off the wagon and need to start eating more salad.
