I've been working on these this weekend- I've made 5 total and have a couple more to go.
The ones pictured are made from the Going Coastal collection (Michael Miller) (and a little bit of stashed fabric) and they're going to the men in my husband's family. The teeny tiny one is for our 9 mo old nephew (but I made it to fit up to a 4T since D rings are easily adjustable).

I am very tired of sewing long, long straight lines, but I think they came out adorably well, so I'm excited to gift them at Christmas!
For the ladies in the family and my sister/ cousins/ older nieces, I'm making quilted keychain wristlets with a cell phone pocket (a la Vera Bradley, which they're all obsessed with). Here's a sneak preview of my trial run:

I used batting!
Here's the tutorial I followed:

It is a little bit labor intensive for 1 belt, but if you're doing a few it is easy to cut all of the squares at once and then just do everything assembly line style.
I'm not going to lie- the ironing with the hem guide killed me on the little one- it was just under 1/4" hem and it was a huge PITA to do- so hopefully your little one is a bit bigger than my nephew and can handle a full sized (1 1/2") D ring not a half size (3/4").
Stand up for something you believe in.
He is tall, but he has a tiny waist. He is in 4T pants and should really be in a 2T.
Thanks for the tips and the link. I pinned it.

PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
I'm also obsessed. It is a little bit obscene how much of this madras I have purchased. It isn't my fault though, I'm blaming it on my location (DC) and the difficultly finding decent fabric okay for older boys/ men.
