? for the moms

Do you remember the schedule that newborn's have to visit the doctor?  I know a few days after birth, 4 weeks, 8 weeks maybe?  I am trying to figure out approximately how many office visits for my FSA.

Thanks!

The early part may depend on your pedi.  I had to see them w/in a few days of being born, and then I had to take them back each week until they hit their birth weight.  Then I believe it was 2 month, 4, 6, 9 & 12 months.  After 1 yr it was 15 & 18 months & then each year after they hit 2 yrs old.

  • I would check with your insurance, but I believe these visits, including vaccinations, should be covered 100% by your insurance.  It's a provision of Obamacare.

I'm pretty sure Renee is right.  Most insurance plans are pretty good about covering most, if not all, of your well-baby visits/vaccinations.  So far Lily has gone a few days after birth, 2 weeks, and will go tomorrow at 2 months.

I don't recall the exact times when Emma went, but the timelines that everyone else are mentioning sound right to me.

  • Well visits are covered at 100% with no copay for us, too.  I thought that was the norm, but I could be wrong.

Trent went a few days after discharge from the hospital, again at 1 week to check weight, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months and will go at 9 months and 1 year.

I can't believe Trent is 6 months old already! How did this happen?! Are you looking forward to your first Christmas with him? Smile

Thanks for the tip!  I will have to look into that.  DD went for her 2 year check up yesterday and DH said there wasn't a copay, I could have sworn we had to pay co-pays for her in the beginning, but if it's free, that's even better!

I really can't believe it either.  Everyone always tells you how quickly the time goes by when you have kids, but I never realized exactly what they were talking about until now.  Maybe I should consider putting up a new siggy pic since this one is his newborn picture lol!

I am SO looking forward to Christmas.  He has no clue what the heck is going on, but I don't care.  I will take ten billion pictures and explain it all to him when he's older. :)

How is your new little lady doing?  Is being a mom of 2 easier or harder than you thought it would be?
