snowblower?
we're thinking of getting one. what should we know about getting them? I think DH is thinking an electric... not sure on his decision. We have a 2 car garage driveway, that fits 4+ cars on it, plus a corner lot with a ton of sidewalk, otherwise DH doesn't mind doing the scooping by hand. Any places with great deals, good customer service, etc we should know about? And how do we get the thing home-we both drive cars!
...not that I'm hoping we have a crap-ton of snow this year, just being prepared, and DH doesn't want to spend his entire evening scooping instead of playing with the kids. And I want to be able to help out when DH is at work.

I 'm pretty sure we have the Ariens Compact 22 or Compact 24. We've had it for 2 years & it's been great. It's really easy to use. (In the past I've been able to use it too, but won't be this year because I'm pregnant.)
ETA: I wouldn't recommend an electric, most likely they won't be able to handle wet snow or large snowfall amounts.
Also, if you don't have access to a truck I would consider renting the Home Depot truck. (It's $20/hour.) DH & I have done that a few times in the past when we bought our grill & again when the baby's crib wouldn't fit in our car. Much cheaper than paying for shipping.
Ours is a beast and I really don't think I could run it by myself, it is DH's job.
We have a John Deere and Van Wall services it. I'm sure they would be more than happy to deliver one to your house!
Do you have a riding lawn mower? Some of our neighbors have a snowblade for theirs and they look pretty efficient.
We bought a Toro a few years back, actually off of Craigslist. The guy had only used it for two Winters, and decided it wasn't big enough; they lived on an extra-wide street, and it couldn't get through the snow the plows pushed at the end of their driveway.

It's always been perfect for us - even when we got over two feet of snow in Omaha Christmas 2009.
Just for the record - we fit this in the back of an Impala, because we didn't have a truck, either. Otherwise, we would have rented a pickup from Lowe's or Home Depot. Don't judge!
