Favorite Christmas cookies?

So today it hit me. I was in Walmart, so I stopped by the Christmas section at the front to pick up some Christmas cards while I was there. While I was wandering down the aisles, I came across the baking stuff and became inspired. I haven't baked anything other than a quick bread in forever, even though I absolutely love to bake. So I bought some tins to fill with cookies and mail to my siblings and their families. I'm so excited!

The weekend after next I'm going to turn on some Christmas music, drink some wine, and bake some cookies! I will do four different kinds. So my question is- what kinds should I bake? I'm not going to do cookie-cutters or anything like that, just yummy cookies that will stack.

I recently found a recipe for pumpkin oatmeal cookies (with white chocolate chips and dried cherries), but I'm not sure if those would be something that everyone would enjoy. Give me ideas please!

Re: Favorite Christmas cookies?

  • That sounds like a great evening!  I do cookie/candy platters each year and people love them.

    Last year I did:

    -Cream cheese mints

    -Easy oreo truffles

    -Frosted sugar cookies

-Three ingredient fudge (only semisweet choc chips, 1 square unsweetened chocolate, and sweetened condensed milk, heat together in a pan and then pour into a greased baking dish.  Refrigerate overnight and slice in the morning)

    -Gingersnaps

    -Peppermint bark

  • I love the flour-less peanut butter blossom cookies!  So yummy and melt in your mouth cookies.
  • Thank you thank you for the ideas! I was trying to think of some things that were easier than mixing ingredients and actually baking the cookies, so your ideas are wonderful.

  • They are not cookies but I love to give candy covered pretzels. I just dip pretzels into white smooth and melty's and top with sprinkles. So easy and pretty. I put them into small cello bags.
