30: Minutes or Less (spoilers)
Who saw this movie and what'd you think of it? MH bought it today and we watched it and, honestly, I thought it was pretty dumb. I know its a movie, but the premise just made no sense to me. Don't go to the police station or we'll blow you up. Okay ... so call the cops (or have Chet call the cops) and tell them what's happening and have them send an undercover officer over. Obviously they didn't give a sh!t when you picked up Chet, so why would they care, or question, an undercover, street clothes officer?
The fact they didn't address THAT drove me nuts the whole movie!

I have no desire to see this movie. It seems icky that they made a comedy that sort of loosely based off of a real and tragic crime, not to mention it just looked stupid.

Glad to hear I'm not missing out!
Me too. The true story is very disturbing, and even though I like the actors in this movie, I'm in no hurry to watch it.
I also thought that making a comedy based on this horrifying crime was horrible. Even though the guy that had the bomb on him was supposedly in on the crime, from what I remember he was under the impression that the bomb was fake. I think it was crass to make a comedy about this. I heard on the radio that the writers said they were only loosely aware of the crime, but I find that hard to believe. The only reason I saw this movie is because is was the second feature at a drive-in theater. I hated it.
