I apologize for being that mom that thinks everyone is as entertained by her child, but 3-year-olds have always cracked me up.
So we got our tree on Friday at Lowe's as we've done for several years. (About 8 feet, Fraser Fir, perfect, and $39.) Fast forward a couple of days, and we're watching Charlie Brown's Christmas. Charlie and Linus head to the tree lot to get the infamous Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I make a few comments about the weird colors and fake metal trees at the lot, and how our tree is nice and green. Lily says, so matter-of-factly, "Them need to go to Lowe's." She was so proud of her simple solution, and then they found the little tree, and she got all excited, "Look! That tree green."
Perfection. :-)

Very cute!
Question- do you have luck with the lowe's trees? as in do they last until Christmas??
Adorable! You can tell cute stories of your precious girl any time, as far as I'm concerned!
(By the way, I have a Lily related story for you. For a bright kid, Beckett is terrible with names and one day, he was trying to tell me something about Lily and couldn't think of her name. So he says, "You know, Mom, the bea-u-tiful little girl..." Isn't that sweet?)
my read shelf:
Thanks, y'all.
Tampabride -- I don't know, but I think they should. I've only needed my tree to last until December 18th or so in the past because by the time we get back from Wisconsin, it's totally dead/dry. Well, after two weeks without water, it usually still looks good, as long as you don't touch it. I'm pretty confident that this year's tree will last until Christmas, though! I'm all for getting the tree as early as possible.
FLMom -- that's adorable. You best get your tree ASAP.
Tasha -- heart-melt.
Kim -- that is really nice that the Costco guy said that. I don't think people often know how much effect a simple thing like that can have.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
I love her and I don't even know her
We just got our tree from Lowes a little bit ago and there was a father with his 2 daughters and 1 son getting their tree and the kids were so excited. I can't wait to have one!!!!!
