s/o Lowe's Christmas trees, my funny child.

I apologize for being that mom that thinks everyone is as entertained by her child, but 3-year-olds have always cracked me up.

So we got our tree on Friday at Lowe's as we've done for several years. (About 8 feet, Fraser Fir, perfect, and  $39.) Fast forward a couple of days, and we're watching Charlie Brown's Christmas. Charlie and Linus head to the tree lot to get the infamous Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I make a few comments about the weird colors and fake metal trees at the lot, and how our tree is nice and green. Lily says, so matter-of-factly, "Them need to go to Lowe's." She was so proud of her simple solution, and then they found the little tree, and she got all excited, "Look! That tree green."

Perfection. :-)

  • Very cute!

Question- do you have luck with the lowe's trees? as in do they last until Christmas??

  • SOOOO Cute!!!!!  We were supposed to go get our tree on Sunday, but after spending the entire day decorating both in and outside the house, we decided we would go one night this week.  Well, Isaiah has been really into Christmas this year, so he was REALLY bummed that we didn't go Sun night.  I told him that maybe we would go Monday night.  So, I thought that was the end of it, until DH calls me at work yesterday to inform me that Isaiah's teacher had called him.  I was like, OH NO!" because he has had some not so great behavior recently, and a phone call is never good.  So, anyways, Paul reassures me that Isaiah has been good at school, but that he had been asking his teacher all morning to call his daddy because daddy was picking him up early from school to go get a treat.  Paul was like, "ummm, no?"  She said, he was so insistent upon it that she thought maybe we were picking him up early, so she wanted to check.  I was confused as to why he was so adamant about getting picked up early to go get his treat (we tell him everyday that if he has a good day he can have a treat), so when I picked him up after school yesterday, I asked him about it.  turns out he was saying TREE, and that was why he wanted daddy to come.  So we could go get our TREE.  LOL.  We didn't one last night bc it was so nasty out, so I wonder if he will bug his teacher again today.  LOL.

  • Adorable! You can tell cute stories of your precious girl any time, as far as I'm concerned!

(By the way, I have a Lily related story for you. For a bright kid, Beckett is terrible with names and one day, he was trying to tell me something about Lily and couldn't think of her name. So he says, "You know, Mom, the bea-u-tiful little girl..." Isn't that sweet?)

  • I'm with Tasha, you can tell Lily stories anytime, I love them.  She is too smart.  We got our tree at Costco last night and Q was concerned that it would blow off the top of our car.  The guy that worked there told him Santa told him to make sure that no trees blew off cars.  Its nice when the random Costco employees entertain your child's crazy thoughts.

  • Thanks, y'all.

Tampabride -- I don't know, but I think they should. I've only needed my tree to last until December 18th or so in the past because by the time we get back from Wisconsin, it's totally dead/dry. Well, after two weeks without water, it usually still looks good, as long as you don't touch it. I'm pretty confident that this year's tree will last until Christmas, though! I'm all for getting the tree as early as possible.

FLMom -- that's adorable. You best get your tree ASAP.

    Tasha -- heart-melt.

Kim -- that is really nice that the Costco guy said that. I don't think people often know how much effect a simple thing like that can have.

  • I love her and I don't even know her :)

We just got our tree from Lowes a little bit ago and there was a father with his 2 daughters and 1 son getting their tree and the kids were so excited.  I can't wait to have one!!!!!
