where to get coupons

My wife - er - husband wants to start couponing more. We buy the vast majority of our stuff in generic brands. We don't buy large quantities because we don't have much cupboard space. A very large part of our food is not something we could keep around for a long time even if we wanted. But - he wants to try and i told him I'd help out by asking you ladies. I know it's been asked before but I never paid attention because I don't like many of those items are items that we buy.

links?

sites?

any advice?

(I refuse to be the "stock up" type of people. I just don't want all of that crap in my house.)

Re: where to get coupons

  • totallytarget.com

    crazycouponlady.com

    both have coupon databases

caveat:  I put a lot of time into my couponing but it is a hobby for me.

  • I coupon a lot, but we eat mostly organic, do not buy processed meals or snacks (outside of granola bars) therefore our coupon use is limited.

    My favorite sites are:

    mambosprouts.com
coupons.com (occasionally they have natural/organic coupons)
    totallytarget.com (a blog)
    dealseekingmom.com (another blog)

We also get the paper every day-so we get Sunday coupons too.

Target and Whole Foods allow coupon stacking-you can use one of their store coupons and a MFR coupon on an item.

  • Also check out the specific store sites for the grocery stores you shop at. I know you're in Lincoln --- but Bag n Save as well as No Frills here often have coupons for their store brand on their website. I often find the store brand is cheaper than a name brand with a manufacturer coupon (unless you're stacking like PP). There are some items I won't budge on when it comes to the name brand (like PB and Mac n Chz) so I watch specifically for those coupons in the paper, coupons.com, etc.

  • And sometimes the key to coupon is not being brand loyal.  It does take time.  I also use Krazy Coupon Lady.  I go in spurts of when I'm really good and other days, i just do not have the energy to do couponing.
