Re: Bumps and babies

  • I'm doing well this week.  I can't believe I'm almost half way!  Weird.  We go on Friday for our anatomy scan and should hopefully find out what we're having.

This weekend we're pretty sure we've settled on names, though apparently the girl name is still up for discussion.

I think I'm starting to feel the baby a lot more now too, and more consistently.  Monday was a pretty low key day for me, so I guess the baby was maybe awake more?  But nearly all afternoon I could feel kicks/pops/flutters.  It's really neat and also really weird.  To think that there's something living inside.

I'll try to snag a picture later, if not I'll attempt to upload my bump/kitchen update pictures, as we actually grabbed one on the weekend!

  • Funny Raynes, I just looked at your siggy this morning and said to myself that I couldn't believe you were almost 1/2 way done.

My boys had a successful first day of DC yesterday.  Both took naps, however she did tell me (which I am not surprised) Christian just likes to climb up on everything.  Needless to say when I picked them up, I just peeked in first to see what they were doing, and she was taking Christian off of a table.  Seriously that kid climbs and stands on anything he thinks he can.  Tomorrow when I pick them up I will get their first artwork.  They were hanging on the wall, and they painted pigs with mud.

Christians new thing is pretending to talk on his Elmo phone. It cracks me up everytime he does it.

Zach took a big digger the other day, and has a bruise/big scratch on his nose.  It's totally my fault because I forgot to put the gate up at the top of the stairs when I left for work Monday.  Thankfully he caught himself 1/2 way down the stairs, but from what DH said it wasn't pretty. Crying

  • This will be a quick post because I've gotta head out to my mom's.

    Two big milestones this week:

    1. "Hey V, did you put him on his belly on the playmat?" (Unusual)
    "Uh, no..." (looks)

--- Yep, he learned to roll back to belly!

    2. We've successfully transitioned him to sleeping in his crib at night, and his sleep is more or less back to normal (2 night wakings).

    Have a good day ladies!

  • I guess I'll do a quick update on our TTC process. We're on our 9th month, 8th cycle TTC. I'm trying to be patient and not get discouraged. I've always had irregular cycles and since I've started charting I've noticed I have a lot of anovulatory cycles.

Ups: I just started using OPK's this cycle, so hopefully that will help. I'm also excited I get to pee on something finally! Stick out tongue

Downs: A very good friend of mine who is also a co-worker text me this weekend to tell me that she's pregnant. She was on BC and wasn't trying so it was a bit of a shock. The worst part is she was dreading telling me because she didn't want to upset me because she knows we've been trying for a while. It makes me feel horrible that she was dreading telling me.

  • We've had a rough couple of weeks and nights. Olivia is teething again and is so fussy but that is manageable. It's the waking up throughout the night that's been difficult. She's waking up two to three times a night and even though we are taking turns, I'm exhausted. I have been so tired and irritable lately that I took today off. Of course I can't sleep now but I'm sure I will manage a nap soon. I feel guilty but I really need to rest and some me time so I can get back to being myself again. I've also realized that even if it makes me feel guilty, I need time to myself every so often so I don't get to the point where I'm crying uncontrollably and having panic attacks.

Other than that my sweet girl is getting so big and I can't believe she's already 7 months old.

  • Emmett will be 17 months on Friday.  Gah!

The last week or two has been a bit rough.  He is teething bad and also is battling a cold.  He's very clingy and wants to be carried all the time.  This is fine except lugging a 30lb toddler can wear me out.  And the whining/fussing is wearing on me a bit.  Thankfully I had a few hours to myself last night while the boys hung out :)

Katsblaze...I totally can relate to the climbing.  Emmett LOVES to climb and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything.  We can't use our dining room table because he wants to climb on it and will.not.relent.

  • Joseph is finally over his annoying bug that left him being a grouch for 3 weeks and he cut his two front upper teeth.

He also said "da da!" to DH this morning. DH was just about to leave and Joseph caught a glimpse of him from his crib, so he shouted "da da!" while looking at DH. It was the CUTEST THING EVER! Now I just wish I had my phone handy to get that on video.

No PIP to post today. Totally swamped at work right now and lucky to post over her real quick.

  • 35/35 today! Woo hoo! I got "checked" for the first time this week, no progress, even though I didn't expect any. That was not my favorite thing but at least I know what to expect now.

Just getting more and more nervous. Her nursery is all finished so now I just need to take pics and post them. I have 2 weeks left of school so just trying to make sure that's all done and stay super caught up at work in case the little one decides to come early (wishful thinking? I'd say so!) I also got my maternity pics back. I'll post a few.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well, it seems teething is the cool thing to do these days! Wink

Bailey- Your friend was probably just trying to be extra careful in how she told you. I'm sure she knew you wouldn't be upset with her. Just think of it as her being extra thoughtful in how she wanted to tell you. Keep your chin up lady!

  • I am officially half-baked!  And I'm officially "out" at work (which went well).  Still working on getting my paper work done to secure my position but I spoke to a lady in HR today and she is going to work on getting my contract settled and effective for Jan 1st.

I'm still feeling very well.  The past few days, however, the gas has gotten out of control!  I'm actually in physical pain at some points with it.  Hoping this gets better soon.

My anatomy scan is next Tuesday but we aren't going to find out what we are having.  We both really want to wait.  Still haven't bought anything for baby yet or really discussed names.  We'll get to that soon enough.

Here is my 20w1d gassy bump..

  • Edmund is 7 MONTHS today! I can't believe he is getting so big! He isn't crawling and he doesn't have any teeth. Although I can feel 2 teeth just under the surface that weren't there a week or two ago when I last checked. This has made sleeping for him terrible. Tylenol seems to be taking the edge off but doesn't fully help him. I feel bad for him and for the fact that I can't do anything help him.
