Gifts for Dad?
I am stumped on what to get Big M for Christmas this year. He's an angry blue collared worker that likes to do yard work, wood work, read the newspaper, drink coffee and diet pepsi. He doesn't know anything about computers and can't turn on a TV or DVD player without assistance.
I did get him season one of NCIS with credit card points but when I googled it, it only costs like $11. So, I definitely want to get him something else. I have a $50 limit. I considered a Home Depot gift card - but we asked my parents for that, so I feel silly getting him something we asked him for.
Any suggestions?

She has no clue. She usually gets him jeans and flannel shirts....and coffee. haha
My dad is also ridiculously difficult to shop for. He only wants Gander Mountain gift cards. I like getting him things he can actually open.
I have been known to give cases of diet Pepsi, homemade pies, bags of Smarties, and cashews in the past. As far as I'm concerned, you can't go wrong with food!
I think we're getting my dad some keg-cleaning equipment (yep, Mr. Nooner has a kegerator). BIL used to just bring stuff from the brewery, but since he's not working there anymore, he needs his own tools for cleaning.
I like the magazine or newspaper supscription idea, we often do that for Scott's grandpa.
Does he like Jerky? We are getting my dad a dehydrator so he doesn't have to borrow ours.

He doesn't read books. I renewed his subscription to one newspaper last year for 2 years and he already has a subscription to another one that he pays.
As far as the alcohol idea from Nooner, he's a recovering alcoholic. So, no keg gifts for him.
Seriously. Most difficult person to shop for EVER. He usually tells me the name of a tool to get. But this year he said "I don't give a damn." hahaha
My mom loves crossword books, so I usually get her a bunch of those since she does them at work.
OOOH! You know! Thanks for mentioning this. He's been DYING to try Wahlburgers even though I told him the place was mediocre. He still really wants to go. So, maybe I'll get him a Wahlburgers gift card.
Jill, I am shocked... what would the Brothers Wahlberg think if they heard you say such a thing?
Also? Going to a new resturant on its opening night/weekend/week is probably the worst idea when it comes to juding a place. I suggest going again now that they've been open a few months... you might change your mind.

Oh scratch my suggestion.
I like the dehydrator idea. We bought one of those for my dad years ago, and he makes the best jerky.
Does he grill? You could make a basket full of grilling goodies. I did that for Father's Day this year. Grilling mit, an elecrtic grill brush, kabob skewers, some spices and rubs, and BBQ sauce.
Mary suggested the grill gift set to me off board. I dig it - but it's similar to the fondue gift set I made him last year. I'm keeping it in my back pocket as a last resort.
