Hey girls! Just stopping by to browse some posts and say hello! Nothing earth-shattering has been occurring in life except just being busy. I've had parties/showers/dinner plans every weekend since Oct 23 and not one has included a date! ha ha! So, I don't have nay raunchy dating stories to share! I wish! Man, I'd kill for some making out right about now. Ah!
Anyway, so I got this really great book recommended to me by a friend called "Add More -Ing to Your Life" by Gabrielle Berstein and I really ike it so far. It's all about being more loving to yourself and positive energy. I thought I'd recommend it to you girls if you're looking for something similar.
I made a big decision concerning a step forward in my teaching career. I have explored some masters programs and I have decided that I'd like to apply to a one-year program at Harvard for next year! I spoke to my superintendent and he was extremely supportive and offered to write me a recommendation letter. Also, I would need a sabbatical (keep my job and get a half year's salary) to do the program pending my admission, so he and I talked about that and he seemed enthusiastic about being able to make that happen for me. So, I spent about a month studying really hard for my GREs and I ended up doing well! I haven't done math since 1997, so I actually went to math classes in my high school to relearn some content like geometry, algebra, and probability. It was actually kind of fun to sit next to juniors that I currently have in my AP Gov class and take class with them. They were all "Ms. M, what are you doing here!?!?!" ha ha! Anyway, I scored in the 97th percentile for the writing portion and I am beyond excited about that because last weekend, at an info session at Harvard, they said that score was the most important score to their team. My app is due Jan 4 and I hear on March 26. Wowzers! I'd have to rent a room or get a grad dorm for the 8 months of the program, so I'm trying to figure that out....esp with my pets. My parents said my dog always has a home with them and since they are allergic to cats, we have an extremely close family friend that actually might live in my house for a little while.
I may have a date this weekend w/ a guy from Match.com who has the same bday as me. Funny!
Sorry this was long! I gotta get back to browsing the posts and catching up on everything!!!
