christmas gifts for second, third, etc child...

We are pretty much done with Owen's list but have no idea what to get for Jocelyn. I feel like everything I think of for her, we already have from gifting to Owen at her age. And how many dolls can a girl have. She has 3 already but really only likes one. Help! I need ideas for what to get J.

Am I the only one who feels like it's hard to shop for subsequent children?

Holly

  • shopping cart, play food, tea set. I know she seems a little young for some of these but within months will grow into them. New books. Fisher price purse-Lyra got that from my parents and seems to really like it.
  • E, I thought about a shopping cart actually. I've also thought about the graco sets you can buy for dolls that include a PNP, stroller, etc. They had a great one at Aldi actually a few weeks ago that I forgot to snag. Darn!

And funny you replied, I was thinking of you and K (ha, both hubby and Katie!) since I stopped by the PUH to get an officer to sign my sheet saying I got a replacement for my front plate that fell off. I was in the area, needed it signed by today, and figured there would be someone there :) Nice PO helped me out Smile

  • I have this issue with Kolbe. Tommy and Maren are actually pretty easy but Kolbe is more difficult because we already have so much 2 year old boy stuff from Tommy.
Tied the knot: 6.19.04 Mommy to 3 awesome kids: Maren 3/06, Tommy 12/07 amd Kolbe 8/09
  • I had the same problem, especially since that age is good for riding toys or standing toys, which you already have from the first.  A kitchen is a good idea if you don't already have that, stroller set for her babies, maybe a Tag Jr.  I struggled, but found some good gender-specific things in the end.
  • I just had this discussion with my coworkers yesterday. I have no CLUE what to get Leah-and I feel bad because the toys she has are always missing a piece or don't quite work as well as they did new, but I can't justify buying a new one.
  • Kennedy is getting a stroller walker/doll stroller.  we had a few walkers from Blake but I like the storller idea for a little girl.

From us she is getting her PBK anywhere chair which is what we got Blake for hsi first Christmas...and her first doll and that's about it for our ideas!

On Facebook, I'm part of a group called Cari's list, I will see if I can add you.  Someone is selling a slightly used shopping cart and kitchen set stuff.

  • We just bought the kids a playhouse as a joint gift.  I think they will both get equal playtime out of it, and we are keeping it inside, so it will probably last until we have grandkids.
  • If it were up to me, the baby would get hardly anything, but I just have this feeling that Jack would notice all his crap and Joah's nothing.  ;)

So, we got Joah a crib soother and that's his only "toy."  Other stuff were things he needs or will need:  a Crane humidifier, a nice thermometer, one of those little infant toothbrushes, a few little board books. . .

But yes, way more difficult, especially because I'm trying to rid my house of all the crap!
