Re: Morning Drive
My drive was okay, it was getting out of the driveway that was a PITA! I have a jeep, so it wasn't about getting stuck. But, I had one of those almost comical, should be on a sitcom moments. First I was cleaning off the vehicles while DH shovled a bit. While scraping, I managed to fling snow/ice up in the air and it went down my face and down my shirt. Yes, my coat was zipped up all the way. It somehow made it in there. Then I broke my windsheild wiper completely off. I had to drive to work without wipers. I know where I'm going at lunch today! Oops.
But the roads were okay, for my 4 mile drive.
How was your drive to E. Lansing, Sassy?
I actually made arrangements with my boss to work from home today. She is also working from home. Im actually really enjoying working from home. I didnt have to get dressed this morning :-)
Good to know the roads out here arent bad. I wonder how my husbands drive out to Commerce was.
Luckily, I work a mile from where I live, so technically if the roads were bad I could walk
BUT the roads were OK even though the parking lots/road in my apartment complex was pretty icey. Also, my car was frozen shut. I had to bodyslam the door a couple of times then pry it open. Ugh.
I somehow was incredibly lucky! The drive for me was better than most mornings. Crossing my fingers that it will as smooth going home as it was coming in!

I'm pretty fortunate, I only drive a little less than 10 miles to work. I also am extremely thankful that DH finally got the garage cleaned out enough to park in, so I didn't have to scrape my car this morning. The roads were not really that bad. It took me about 5 minutes longer to get to work than normal, but I took off about 10 minutes earlier than normal, so I was fine!
Although I heard on the radio that there were two dozen reported accidents on the highways (this was about 7:30am). I can imagine that this would slow things down a bit!

Ditto for me. I left at the same time and actually got to work on time, normally I am 10 or 15 mins late.. hah
Drive for me wasn't too bad. The worse place to drive actually was in the parking lot at my complex. It normally takes me about 25 minutes to get to work and today it took me 40, but an extra 15 minutes wasn't too bad.
I think the worse part of all the snow was the lack of electricity.
I got home at 3:00 yesterday to no power... and we were supposed to have a meeting to go over rent stuff with the leasing office, and they just cancelled it without letting us know! It's not so much a big deal for me, but it really pisses me off that H left work 2+ hours early for the meeting and they cancelled without letting us know. AND he doesn't get paid for that time either.
The only good thing about no power+no meeting: We were able to do a date night
We went to the movies then hung out at home under candlelight. Super relaxing and romantic
Traffic was SO bad, my hour drive was closer to 2!
