Would you go to the doctor? Foot related

In late October Evan and I were in the kitchen and he was playing with the broom. Well, he decided he was done playing and dropped the broom and ran off. The broom handle landed straight across my foot where the toes meet the foot.

Obviously it didn't drop from a very high height, but it hurt pretty badly and I had a slight bruise across 3 of my toes. I am still having mild discomfort when I walk and just yesterday I started hearing/feeling a sort of click in my foot.

I'm not sure what a doctor could do for me. DH said that it is something that probably takes months to heal but I should go if I think it is a problem.

WWYD? Anyone have experience with this type of injury?

  • If it's been over a month I would go.  I've had 3 breaks in my foot and the sooner you take care of it the better.  I've been seeing Dr. Baxter for the past 10 years.  He is great and specializes in foot and ankle orthopedics.  Good luck!

  • I would definitely go too.  I fell down some stairs last year and hurt my foot... After 2 weeks it was still hurting so I went to the doctor.  I had a hairline fracture!  I was in a boot for about 4 weeks, but my foot was good as new after!  (and oddly, I have NO pain in it when running, but I deal with pain in the other foot occasionally. lol)

  • I did something to my left foot tripping and falling in high school, and never went to the dr. b/c I was tough and thought I could walk it off.  I still have issues w/ it popping w/ certain heel heights.  When I asked my dr. about it she said it sounded like a cracked metatarsal and they'd probably have to re-break it and make me wear a boot for like 6mos.

No thanks, I'll just deal with the popping in the odd pair of shoes...
