Giant AW - Holy Hell
On an absolute whim, I emailed Kim Dow, the woman who painted the painting I've been all but weeping over on Etsy for the last month or two.
After a shockingly wonderful exchange, she brought the price down enormously, reserved in my name. I just bought it and am ready to cry big, happy tears.
FWIW, I have a pretty good eye for investments in this sort of stuff. Not that I intend to sell her. Ever.

Yep!! I can comfort myself with the investment angle (it's appraised at about twice what I paid) but who am I kidding? I'm never selling this thing.

She sounds like a wonderful etsy seller/artist!
She was amazing!! I figured it was worth a try to contact her even though I doubted it would even be acknowledged - if nothing else just to tell her how beautiful I thought it was.

I saw your post on FB, but didn't know that the price was adjusted for you- that's fantastic!
I always feel when you get a deal on something you love, it was meant to be!
Yeah - no way in hell I could've swung the original price. At least not in good conscience.
And to top it all off, I just walked back to my office from a really fabulous work evaluation.
