heh, i'd never make it as an engineer

Earlier today I had to do some interviewing and I interviewed an engineer that works on connectors.

The candidate was talking about male and female connectors and making gestures with his hands. I'll let you imagine what those gestures are.

It took every bit of self control that I had not to start giggling. Embarrassed

  • h and i are both engineers. and we put together a faux, prelit christmas tree yesterday. we still giggled at calling them male/female connectors :)

  • We had to buy some hose adapters and had the same experience, only i felt even more ridiculous b/c the person helping us didn't know what the m/f label meant... it was awkward.

  • I use to work for an electrical distributor. I had to listen to creepy dirty old construction guys make rude comments about such things daily.

    The polite name for those is "coupler". which doesn't help any. Embarrassed

  • DH and I make (really) bad jokes about SCSI ports. :D

    And occasionally, we'll be looking for a 'male to male' or 'female to female' connector of some sort or another, and I'll giggle a lot.

  • Haha, I am an engineer, and I totally giggle about it, all the time. DH just laughs at me :)
