Once again learning something new
My old LYS is doing another Advent scarf this year, and I have to do an I-cord provisional cast on to get started. Both I-cords and provisional cast ons are new to me, but fortunately our pattern author linked to a (11-minute) video to show me how it's done. So far so good! I'll post progress as we go along.

Re: Once again learning something new
Ooh, that's a new one. I've done icords and provisional cast-ons, but not both.
I did learn a new cast-on for my elfster ornament, though--the circular cast-on, great for top down hats and the like.

PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
Cool! I decided to start an entrelac scarf. Still haven't figured out what yarn to use but I have played around with the pattern. It's wild but will help me get better with picking up.
Provisional cast ons are hard for me. I can't make them look nice.

I've done a provisional cast on with an icord cast off at the end (it was for this skirt), but not an i-cord provisional cast on. Hopefully it won't be too hard and you'll have learned something new!
lol.
Count me in as another person who didn't understand that at all, but yea for learning something new.
