What do you set your thermostat to?
Home and away, winter and summer.
This is my siggy.
Re: What do you set your thermostat to?
I think when we're away it's 60, and maybe 67 when we're home awake and 65 when we're home asleep.
From about late March to late October, it's switched to the "off" position.

Most people (including me) don't have AC where I live, so I just open a window or turn on a fan when it gets hot.
During the winter I set it to 64 or 65 when I am at home, I turn it off (or to 55) when I'm sleep and when I am not at home.
I am cheap when it comes to my energy bill, and was raised to "put on more clothes or blankets if you're cold" so I don't consider myself a reasonable standard at all.

We keep it at about 68-70 on heat in the winter or keep it turned off, 70-80 on cool in the summer.
I don't usually change it whether I'm home or away.
For real. Even my mom doesn't keep her heat that low.
We maintain our house at 72 all year long. But the heater hasn't had to run very much yet because it has been warm outside.
But during the summer we are running the a/c almost constantly because it gets god awful hot here. Last summer wasn't so bad, but we have had summers where its 100 by 8am.
66 in winter, 75 in summer. We only change it if we're going out of town, in which case it's only high/low enough to prevent property damage (45 in winter, 95 in summer).
We have an open floor plan and cathedral ceilings though so our thermostat is wonky. as. sh*t.
Summer: 72 when we're home, 74 when we're away
Winter: 70 when we're home, 68 when we're away
DH is a thermostat nazi
Winter: usually 68.
Summer: 75-77. DH hates it but we can't afford the 73 or so he'd prefer!
73 in the winter morning, noon and night (if we are away on holiday for a week or more we will knock it down to 60)
70 in the summer (see above)
Usually around 19 - 20 C (66 - 68 F) summers (if want AC) or just off entirely.
20 - 22 C (68 - 72 F) winters. It has been at 22 C the last week or so and will likely remain that way this winter!
Yeah, I would HATE that. I despise feeling like I need to wear a 1,000 layers to stay warm when I am indoors!
Wow - and I thought keeping ours at 65 was pushing it. But its registered at 65 now and I feel great. Maybe it's because I have been up and moving a lot.
QFT.
70 in the winter. It is currently 42 outside.
72 in the summer. The typical summer temps are high 80s/low 90s with 90+% humidity.
If we're able, we shut the furnace down in the spring and fall and open the windows. That's not always possible though since we get most of our rain in those seasons. If it rains we have to close up the house and turn the a/c or heat back on to keep the moisture out.

In the winter, it's typically set around 65 (70 at the most) when we're home and awake. When we're at work or sleeping, we set it to 58-60. I usually complain about how chilly the house gets, but we only go through a little over a tank of oil each winter season so that's nice.
In the summer we flip the switch so the furnace can't start. We don't have central air, and we really only run the window units when it's over 90 outside.
78 Summer
68 Winter
When we traveled this summer I think we set it to like 85. We don't really travel in the winter.
Ours only controls the heater. It's set to anywhere between 70 to 72 when it's cold (winter-ish?). I always make sure it's not above 70 when we go to bed, otherwise the apartment completely dries out. Of course, we have one wall register for the whole apartment, so this place is *very* unevenly heated.
Once it gets warm, the thermostat is turned all the way down and we shut off the gas to the heater, otherwise it'll still radiate some warmth.
I like the house to be at about sixty five, year round.
