For people that have lived in DC area for a long time...
Have you ever seen a White Christmas as in it snowed on Christmas or Christmas eve?
I know we had the snowmaggeddon a few years back with it snowing 6 days before Christmas. DH and I left town for FL that weekend before Christmas after our flight was cancelled.
I've dreamed of a white Christmas ever since I was little. But living in Norfolk where some winters we didn't even get any snow, we never had one.
Just curious if anyone has seen a white Christmas here. We've been out of town (most of the time in FL) for every Christmas since I moved here in 2005. This is the first Christmas we will be here.

Re: For people that have lived in DC area for a long time...
Oddly, we had a white Christmas in Florida one year. That was pretty amazing.
I think it was 1995 when we had a lot of snow on Christmas week. I was home from college and had this great idea to drive back to Colorado with a friend and we got stuck in WVA in the snow on the highway and slept in the car. Fun times.
The one I remember the best is the Christmas 2002 snow, because I lived in Alexandria without a car and my Dad didn't want to drive from MD to pick me up, so I ended up spending it with my then-boyfriend (now DH's) family. Jerky of my dad not to pick me up but honestly we had so much fun and such a nice celebration at DH's that I didn't care.
In 1993 it snowed an inch or two in the early evening on Christmas day. I was home from my sophomore year in college.
There have been maybe two or three other times that we had brown dirty snow left on the ground from a previous snowfall, but I don't count that!
I've lived in MD almost all 30 years of my life
we've had white christmas.
I feel like we get the most snowfall really in Feb. It always seems like it's on my birthday !
Maybe I have a bad memory, but I can't remember a white out Xmas. I've lived in the area (on and off) since 1987. The few years I was gone, I'm pretty sure there was no snow.
Was there snow last year? I just remember moving my flight b/c they were talking about snow and I didn't want to get stuck.
A year or two before there was snow on the ground, but no snow on the day.
Perhaps there was in 1997 (that year had a major snowstorm too, but maybe not near Xmas?)
Me too! My B Day is March 1 and I always feel like there is snow around my birthday.
