  Just buy whatever kind of cake mix you want.  If you want red velvet just buy that cake mix and then cream cheese frosting.  Then buy vanilla candy coating from hobby lobby or mangelsons

  Or just use almond bark (choc or vanilla) for the dipping as you can microwave it.  I am going to attempt to make better than sex cake "cake pops".  Use German Chocolate Cake mix and than instead of mixing with frosting use sweetened condensed milk and caramel ice cream topping to make them sticky enough to hold together in the ball shape and add in some chopped up toffee (Heath Bars).   Dipping them in choc bark and sprinkling more heath bar on top before they have harden.  I have put the ballz in the freezer to quicken the process before the dipping.
