Cute/professional work clothes. Rec some places.
If you can think of anything, I will take it. One of my NY resolution is to dress a little nicer for work. I have ONE suit jacket I love to wear all the time if I could...it is a Neigard from Dillards. I have a couple from LL Bean I like too, but not as comfy.
I'm good with some nicer caridgans, sweaters, stuff I can layer and really mix and match.
I'm in MD, but I don't mind driving to Tysons or other places in VA since I'm there all the time.
Where do you buy cute work stuff? To add, I'm generally a size 12/14 but on WW so I need stuff that is less expensive or can be taken in.
Re: Cute/professional work clothes. Rec some places.
Ann Taylor
Loft
Banana Republic
Gap
J crew
I look for things on sales at these places. I also occasionally find a cute, inexpensive top at Target or H&M.
I know some people like NY&Co, but IMO their clothes aren't as good quality. If you just want some filler items while you're in-between sizes, I'd look at places like TJMaxx, Marshalls, and Ross.
This is exactly where/what I shop
Pretty much all of the ones Wines listed. Since you're not looking to spend a lot of money, it might be worth driving out to the outlet center in Queenstown (just over the Bay Bridge; I think it's called Prime Outlets). They have outlets for J Crew, Gap, BR, and White House Black Market (which also has nice work stuff); I don't think they have an AT/ATL outlet, however.
ETA: I forgot to add the Limited to Wines' list. They usually have good deals on suits and dress pants (although their pants generally aren't lined).

Ditto a lot of WNW. Loft was my main go-to when I was building my work wardrobe. NY&Co doesn't fit me well most of the time, but their price point is reasonable for fill-in wardrobe if you're not sure you'll be at a particular size for long.
I've gotten some decent work pants at Limited and Talbots. Talbots is a little pricey, but it's probably made well enough to be worth taking in if you find something you really love there.
I've been adding basic cardigans from Land's End Canvas to my work rotation lately, but haven't tried much else from there that's work-appropriate.
my office is more business casual than true business. I actually love the suit jackets from Gap (they only have 2-3 per season) but they fit great. And, I love their premium pants because you can throw them in the washing machine and they don't wrinkle.
My list of work clothes places is AT, Loft, Banana Republic and Nordstrom. However, i have a new favorite place in Old Town. Treat is a really cute store and the prices can be great. Not sure if OT is convenient to your office but they have good deals and are super helpful. I recently got a short sleeve wrap sweater (that I am wearing today) at Treat and it looks great with black pants for $40....
Ditto all of the above.
The Arundel Mills Outlets has a great LOFT Outlet, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, and a couple of new great women's stores. I'm much more impressed with the outlet center than I was when we moved here 2 1/2 years ago. Not sure if you are in that area, but I'm in Silver Spring and it is so much closer for me to go there than to Leesburg or Queenstown.
I get a lot of nice stuff at Unique Thrift Stores. They have a lot of locations in MD.

The thing I like about them is that the store is HUGE and everything is organized by size so it's relatively easy to find stuff. If you don't want to spend a lot since you are changing weights, this may be a good option. I've gotten a ton of name brand stuff there like Ann Taylor Loft, London Fog, LLBean, Lands End, Tahari, etc. Everything is 25% off on Mondays and if you sign up for their free rewards card, you can also get 25% off on Thursdays.
Ditto all pp. I will say I have found some nice stuff at Old Navy from time to time, when I'm in between sizes and looking for something really cheap.
Right now, most of my slacks are J. Crew or Banana Republic. Tops are mostly Loft, J. Crew, BR, and some Old Navy (more casual stuff).
I've also found some cute skirts at L.L. Bean Signature, and they have pretty good sales and free shipping.

Ditto most of this list for me, except for GAP. I also have quite a few items from Express that I get complimented on a lot.
H&M and Zara are great for some inexpensive pieces.
