*cmc* and others re: ornament wreath

How did you make your ornament wreath? I bought a ton of ornaments last year and want to make a wreath for the window this year.

Any tips or good tutorials you used?

Re: *cmc* and others re: ornament wreath

  • Not ornament wreaths but .... Woman's Day Magazine, December 2011 has some make your own wreath ideas with instructions that are really cute, they may have them online.

    Includes ones made with:

Round peppermints -> my favorite, so cute!!
    Red velvet bows
    little gift boxes
    coffee filters
    felt and yarn

  • imageI made one, I think I used teh Thrifty Decor Chick's tutorial.  The trick is to hot glue the tops on to your ornaments before threading them on the hanger

  • I made it but DH's niece got a hold of it and it is now in pieces Angry  Thing took me hours and it took her about 5 minutes to destroy.

ANYWAY, I agree with what AmyByrd said.  Also, be sure to used different sized ornaments, there will be gaps if you use all big ones, and if you use all small ones you'll need about 300.

  • Dude, it was so easy. Just used a wire hanger and threaded the ornaments on. Tied a big ribbon at the top to cover the hanger. I didn't need to glue the tops on, none of them fell off.

  • I hot glued all the tops on and used different sizes. The hardest part is keeping the ornaments where they should be once you get them fit together. So I even hot glued them to the hangar or each other once I got them fit together.
