UGH - ultra sh*tty
UGH - this hard - i have a class full of students (thank god they are good and working) and i just got off the phone w/ the vet like 2 mins before they came in.
Shelby had surgery on Monday to remove a small lump from under her nipple... she wasn't fixed until after her 3rd heat as we were going to breed her. apparently this raised her risk for mammary cancer. Vet just called and said it was a milignant tumor - 2 out of a possible 6 (6 being the worst). So it does have the potential to spread. Ugh i feel like i just got socked in the face. My poor mutt. I can't imagine her going through pain and stuff, she is so crazy and happy all the time. I sooo want to go sit in my car and bawl my eyes out.
the other shitty part is that we canceled her vet ins about six months ago as it seemed i was throwing money away... double ugh.
so any extra t's and p's that you can squeak out for my mutt (and that this evilness stays away) would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Oh no! I'm so sorry that Shelby isn't doing well. It makes me want to run home & hug my sweet dog, Grace. On the bright side, you caught it early & she will probably be ok. When you get e minute go somewhere private & have a good cry. You'll feel much better.

thanks ladies - super appreciative - the vet said they'd help us if we needed to fudge things a bit and if they will reinstate our ins. they are great there and now we are referred to a clinic for animal cancer... let's hope this stays away for a long time!!!

Another ugh - the breeder got back to me last night and apparently her brother (same litter) died of the C word a few weeks ago and a second sibling (same parents - different litter) also passed away about a month ago. he was devastated and said this is his first run in with this.
YUCK.
