We had a cider "wine-down" organized by me today, and now I'm procrastinating finishing up my stuff because I'm slightly buzzed, lol.
ETA: While listening to the Michael Buble Christmas album of course
Re: I love drinking at work
Oh - sounds fun! I think my office needs more drinking at work, we haven't done one of those in a long time!
It might be even more fun if we include our patients
my currently-reading shelf:
Haha, you should totally start it.
It's also a good way to get in chitchat and facetime with the higher-ups

this.
last year, around this time, we got an email reminder that it's against company policy to have a drink at a holiday lunch, even if it's off site.
Ugh, that sucks. My old job was SO lax on drinking - they hosted Friday afternoon happy hours for the entire company and would often serve things like vodka shots out of ice luges. It was not uncommon for me and my girlfriends to go to lunch, order a bottle of wine, bring it back and put it in the fridge and finish it off throughout the day. I guess I was lucky!

Guddammit.
I just found out that starting 1/1/2012 we aren't allowed to expense any alcohol on travel. Before we were allowed 1 drink with dinner, but not any more.
i dont know how your expensing works since you're technically a different company, but out parent company is the same.......
they don't require receipts for under $75, and even if you do submit receipts, just turn in the "final" copy, not the breakdown of dinner.....

this may or may not happen on many business trips
on my old team, we had a launch party with jello shots. the marketing folks knew how to party, lol.
yeeeah, technically I can do that, but if I ever get audited and I expense alcohol, I'm screwed.
I've never been audited though... *knock on wood*
We just had finance come to present at our staff and it kind of scared the bejesus out of me.
