What's your biggest weakness question?
This comes up in most interviews and was wondering what people say.
Mine - I do well handling problems without getting stressed or caught up in drama and several bosses have told me how much they appreciated that about me. However, this can be misinterpreted by others as not taking a problem seriously enough.
My favorite - I was in an interview group where a person said they were a perfectionist (everyone's answer in that group) - so much so that she needed to take medications for her OCD or she can't function. A little TMI and I got that job over her.
Re: What's your biggest weakness question?
That's a good answer (yours, not that OCD one).
Mine - I've been with the same organization for awhile now, so I say that it could be a weakness I haven't worked for other organizations and seen other ways of doing processes, etc. However, as I'm aware this could be a weakness, I make a point to keep up to date with advancements in the field and bounce ideas off of coworkers who have worked for other organizations.
My favourite - somebody I was interviewing with years ago said they "didn't know a lot about diversity because they were from Toronto, which wasn't very diverse." Umm....Toronto is the largest city in Canada and half of its population was born outside of Canada.
Unless Spanish was remotely relevant to your day-to-day work, I would somewhat side-eye this answer as it's an obvious sidestep around the question.
My answer is that I can sometimes be drawn off-task by new or urgent things that land on my plate. I've resolved this (and it's important to tell the interviewer the steps you've taken to mitigate the weakness!) by making extensive use of the Tasks program and reminder function in Outlook, checking email only a couple times/hour rather than every 30 seconds, spending 20 minutes first thing in the morning outlining my day, etc.

I work with the public, and I see job postings in my field requesting Spanish speaking skills, so I'd say it's relevant enough to mention as a weakness. In an interview I would mention I've studied Spanish in school, and I'm continuing to learn on my own, but I'm by no means fluent.
I really like the Spanish answer. I have so often thought "I would be much more qualified for this job if I was bi-lingual".
My two actual greatest weaknesses are nothing I would feel comfortable saying in an interview. I usually work better independently, and as a result, often complete projects without outside feedback. This is definitely bad, and I have to work on it at every job. I don't think saying this in an interview would do me any favors.
This is me too.
