Christmas Morning Breakfast

What do you usually have for christmas morning for breakfast?

Trying to figure what I want to make. I think it will just be the 3 of us. Making bacon in the oven. Thinking cinnamon rolls or something sweet I can pop in the oven and be done with. Any other good ideas out there?

We usually have coffee and mimosas christmas morning while opening presents too

Re: Christmas Morning Breakfast

  • I pinned a recipe for a baked french toast casserole on Pinterest not too long ago that I think I'm going to make for us.  It sounds pretty easy & like it would be very good.  Here is the link to my pin:

  • I made monkey bread last year. This year I'm thinking maybe a cassarole since I'll be home Christmas Eve to get it set up.
  • Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. We always had them Christmas morning growing up and a I swear I never once had them any other time of year. Just something I'll always associate with Christmas morning.

  • My Nana's cinnamon rolls, strata, and mimosas.
  • I'll make a batch of sweet rolls (much like Pillsbury cin rolls) and hot chocolate. :)

  • We have spinach and goat cheese quiche, baked french toast casserole with praline topping (Paula Deen's recipe), and probably bacon or sausage.

I might make Scotch Eggs since DH loves them (they're hard boiled eggs with a patty of sausage around them, covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried.)

  • My side of the family (mom, dad, brother, sister, and sometimes my brother's FI or my sister's bf) come over on Christmas morning to our house. We always do a savory breakfast casserole with eggs, potatoes, cheese, sausage, and bacon and then we also do a sweet casserole, like french toast casserole. We will see what I make this year. I want to change it up a bit. We also have juice and coffee.
  • My mom always makes these delicious cinnamon rolls each year.  It's all made from scratch and it sets over night.  She just tosses them in the oven before we unwrap presents and then we eat.

I should add that sine we travel for Christmas DH and I stay at my mom and dad's house, so Christmas morning we are with them.  It works out great.

  • We cook a ham overnight and have it with biscuits and leftover home made fruit salad (which is ALWAYS better the next day). For Christmas eve, we've always had a steak dinner.
  • We're usually travelling, but this year we will be home.  I will probably do the Paula Deen french toast casserole or a quiche (I like Ina Garten's salmon fritatta) and some champagne.

  • Our Christmas breakfast is a tradition from my dad's side. We have the same meal every year. It is seriously one of my favorite things about Christmas.

We have Swedish sausage, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, fruit, and cranberry juice with 7up. Yum!!

  • We usually do a quiche lorraine with mimosas, and a fruit salad side. Sometimes my mom will make some other yummy sides but honestly, I don't have clue whether we will eat at my parents or eat at home first.
  • We do the morning "just us" then have one side of the family over for brunch and the other side of the family over for dinner.

I'll make some sort of breakfast casserole that can be made the night before and popped in the oven that morning and probably some sort of rolls or muffins.

  • I usually stop and get Dunkin Donuts on my home from work. This year I'm off Christmas Eve, so I'll probably make bacon, sausage, waffles or pancakes-the kids favorites. The kiddies love their OJ and I'll enjoy my DD k cup coffee!

  • Homemade sticky buns with pecans, fruit salad and some kind of meat (usually sausage).

  • We'll be at my Sister's IL's beach house in RI.  We all cook there and normally do a casserole called 'breakfast before' - google it.  We have that every year.  My Mom makes a family coffee cake and then we usually bring bagels, or something.  Sometimes BIL throws in pancakes. etc.
