Re: Mgoss, some dresses for you!!!

  • Thanks!  Some of those look promising.  It's so hard to find something that looks right since I'm so pale, short (5'3"), and have tig ol' bitties.

  • one of my bridesmaids wore the Monique Lhullier dress for my wedding and it was super flattering on her.  She's probably about 5'4 or 5'5, fairly pale, pretty large up top... let me see if I can find a picture (the dress was black).

of course neither of the pics i have are great, but here you go:

  • well shoot that didn't work.  I don't understand why it doesn't let you upload a picture from your computer on the nest like it did on the knot...
  • I have the 3rd one down and love it! I am fair, about 5'5", and tend to be a bit bustier.

  • Emyinpink, you should just become this board's personal shopper since you select the cutest things.  I just bought the first dress since I realized I need something for our fancy dinner out in Napa in 2 weeks.... hoping it looks as cute on as it does on the stick-skinny-absolutely-perfect model.  :)

I'm actually obsessed with shopping, lol, and have taken a few friends/coworkers to basically re-vamp their wardrobe. If I didn't work in computer science, I'd totally be a personal shopper or interior designer, heh.

Ha!  I wish I was a friend or coworker then, because you pick out cute stuff.  I hate-hate-hate shopping.  I keep saying once I lose the last few pounds that I want to lose, and win the lotto, that I'm going to go on a crazy shopping binge, but honestly I'd still probably only want to buy shoes and purses.

To make matters worse, SIL works in the fashion industry and always is so impeccably dressed!  Talk about intimidating (but she's really nice and great).

I totally understand how you feel. I recently lost 40 pounds, and I still struggle a lot with body image. I love shoes and purses because I don't have to worry about size, and so it was definitely difficult to embrace the clothing shopping as well. I think that's also why I love shopping for other people, heh.

If you ever want to go shopping (when I'm off crutches), seriously, just let me know, because I'm always happy to go (or help pick something out online).

Pinterest is also a great source for fashion inspiration. It's neat to pin stuff too, and figure out your own fashion style.

Here's my board, which is totally out of my price range, haha.
