Hotel Recommendations?

I am looking to book a hotel for a work event in March.  So far I've tried the W, the Willard, the JW Marriott on Penn, Grand Hyatt (which are all near our offices) and the Gaylord National. Any other recommendations for a "nice" hotel preferably nearish the first set of hotels? I have a call into the Ritz Carlton but am otherwise working off of recs. TIA.

Re: Hotel Recommendations?

  • I'd try Hotel Monaco (the downtown location). We used them for our wedding block of rooms and had a great experience.
  • The Mayflower on Connecticut?  SIL had her wedding reception there and it was really nice.  Are all the other options booked already?

  • we use the Sofitel A LOT. They are not always easy to work with, but the hotel's nice and our folks love it.
    Pam and John
    "What is a week-end?"
  • The Hay Adams is a very nice upscale hotel with awesome views from their Top of the Hay rooftop space.

  • we have done work events at the Ronald Reagan Building (very close to JW Marriott and Willard) and they have all been great. Not sure the size of the event you need but they have a round room with a great view down Pennsylvania Avenue.

FYI Gaylord is nowhere near downtown but you might already know this.

Hotel Monaco is good suggestion. Mayflower, Soiftel, also the Madison.
