It's Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! First Friday in December. Crazy, huh?

How was your week? Did anything fun happen that you forgot to share with us?

What are your weekend plans?

Re: It's Friday!

  • Happy Friday!

Week was OK. We were all sick, but are now on the mend. Just in time for my parents to show up. We've been cleaning/organizing all week (yeah, I know, you're SO surprised).

Tonight we're just going to hang out here while my dad probably fixes the shower head in their guest bathroom. The current one sprays water all over the wall above the shower and onto the ceiling. Not good.

Saturday AM we're taking DD to the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton for a Christmas party. It includes food :) Saturday night I think we're going to Legacy Place for shopping, dinner, and a movie while my parents watch DD. We were going to do a night and dinner in the city, but I haven't gotten my bearings enough to figure out where to stay.

Sunday is more quality time with the parents while we do stuff around the house. Maybe mall shopping with Mom. Haven't really figured it out yet. But there will likely be wine involved :)

    Don't drink the water.

  • DrL, it sounds like having your parents visit is great! Have a fun date night!

We are looking at about a million houses this weekend (some in DrL's neck of the woods... kind of). And we're going to a friend's house for dinner on Sunday night.

  • This week actually went by really fast for me. I was out sick last Monday, then had Thursday and Friday off so I only have a 2 day work week. I figured this one would drag but I've been pretty busy. I hope the next 3 weeks until Christmas go by fast too!

We told my grandmother last night about the baby. She was shocked but very excited and almost started to cry. It is her first great grandchild. The waitress we had at the restaurant was actually pregnant too (due in July) and we chatted about stuff and she brought us a free dessert to celebrate! Very sweet. I left her a big tip.

This weekend we're heading up to VT. My aunt is getting remarried. I'm looking forward to it, but not sitting in the car for 3.5 hours.

  • I've never been happier to see a Friday Smile

I am planning lots of mama-baby time this weekend... plus my house looks like it was hit by a bomb and we need to rearrange our garage because we got an email that we can't use the communal parking areas in our complex during snow storms.

We also have to do a lot of organizing for LO to go to daycare and for the week ahead. Plus, DH doesn't get home from his work trip until late tonight.

  • Friday, woot woot!  And I get off at 2pm today because our office is moving (though I wish it were on a different Friday due to our plans in the city tonight, see below).

The week was fine, nothing special to report.  I did get a massage Wednesday night and that was pretty awesome, though I wish my back would stop acting up already.

Tonight DH and I are going to see the Nutcracker.  I've been a couple of times but he's never seen it so we bought tickets a while back to start off our holiday season right.

Tomorrow we're taking my mom out for a birthday dinner and giving her her birthday/Xmas present (iPad2).

Sunday I'll be playing in a tournament most of the day.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Aww, that's sweet about your grandmother, MrsC!  Good luck with the car ride!

This week has mostly sucked and had the added bonus of taking forever, so we have no big plans. I think we're going to have Mexican tonight, so at least there will be margaritas.  We may try to hit up dinner and a movie tomorrow, (though it looks like The Muppets still aren't taking passes, boo!), but we'll definitely leave the house at some point.  Sunday,I was thinking about hitting up the Bizarre Bazaar, but with the crappy bus schedule (and the added bonus of the already-too-few buses getting stuck behind the 300 shuttles to Alewife), I'll probably skip it. I just get too cranky. (I know- shocking!)

My husband has a job interview this afternoon, so please send whatever good job fairy dust/vibes you can his way. His end-date in April just keeps getting closer and closer, and I would never in a million years tell him this, (because he is busting his arse and feeling insanely discouraged right now) but I'm starting to freak out a little.  So this would be a most excellent Christmas present.

Good luck to your H! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both!
  • Lots of luck to your hubby, 5KC!

  • I'm so glad its Friday. This week has been a blur but has been so long at the same time. I'm ready for the weekend!

Tonight H and I are planning on going to my mom's to tell her the news. We're trying to keep things hush-hush still but we feel like we have to tell her sooner than later. My IL's already know. Tomorrow I have a lot of cleaning to get done but no plans otherwise... maybe do some Christmas shopping. Sunday is my SIL's bridal shower! It will be really fun and I'm getting really excited for her! And the best part of the weekend is that H has the whole thing off! Yay!

Good luck to your H 5000C!

Are you a BM? At least you won't be big yet! I was in a wedding when I was 7 months and it wasn't the greatest lol
  • Yes I am! I don't think I'll be showing too much by then. The dresses she chose are absolutely gorgeous and would be very flattering even if I was. I'm actually really excited to wear it! I can imagine being 7 months in a wedding wouldn't be fun.

My other SIL had a BM who was less than 2 weeks pp. That poor girl.

  • That dress is beautiful!

Being a BM 2 weeks pp is SO much worse than being a pregnant BM. That poor woman!

  • I love that BM dress!  Who's it by?

  • Its by Lazaro. I had never heard of that designer before but they have some really pretty dresses.

Ha, no wonder I love 'em--my BM dresses were Lazaro!  His stuff is gorgeous...pricey, but I do think the quality is much better.

Definitely pricey. But this is a dress I would love to wear again someday so its worth it to me!

  • Oh, that dress is really pretty, peepers! And I like the gray a lot. (My SIL originally bought a gray dress for my wedding - she and my brother were our only two attendants- and she was afraid I'd be upset. But I told her I didn't give a crap if she matched the tablecloths, and she said, "good, because it was 30 bucks at the outlets, so I bought it!" She ended up wearing a really pretty brown dress instead, which also cost 30 bucks at the outlets, because the gray one had to be altered to extensively.)

Thanks for the good wishes for my husband, all. He's there right now, and I may be more nervous than he is.  :)

I picked a line that had multiple options.  Same fabrics, six totally different styles available--long, short, two piece, etc.  Each of the four girls got to pick whatever she wanted and they all picked something different.

Now I feel like I have to find a pic to post!

  • We had a Toys for Tots charity event last night. I am so hungover today. Thank god DS slept until nearly 9 a.m.

He had a playdate today, which was fun.  It wore him out and he was like Jekyll and Hyde at Trader Joe's afterward.

We have just been doing things around the house, we have been on the swing in the backyard for a little while, and as soon as DH gets home, we will walk the dogs and make dinner and start decorating the house for Christmas!

Tomorrow- we need to finish xmas shopping so we can mail packages out in a timely manner and car seat shop!

Tomorrow night I have a girls night out for dinner.

Sunday we have another 1st birthday party!  I actually found 2 other churches I would like to try out, so I think we'll go to one of those Sunday morning.
