Fave iphone apps?

So we finally upgraded from plain old phones to smartphones Big Smile  We do have an ipad so I have some idea of apps but the ipad is not connected to 3G or anything so we just use it at home for games and quick internet access etc.  What apps are great for on the go?  Or just in general?  Didn't bh's husband actually make an app?

Re: Fave iphone apps?

  • i love the hipstamatic app for photos. besides angry birds and the usual apps (facebook, yelp, etc), i like a lot of other photo/postcard apps:

    8mm (video)

postagram (you can send postcards with your own photos)

    shake it photo

howdy (e-mail postcards, again you can use your own photos but also choose their designs)

yup! "It Happened Here brings a city's past to life by providing descriptions of the most interesting events that have taken place at or near a user's location."

we're up to 6 cities now, including DC. here you go :-)

    other apps I like:

Kindle - it will sync with the one on your iPad (if you have it) and you can read books on your phone, too.

Google - it has a voice search feature that is pretty cool

Pandora - although it eats up your battery power

Flashlight - has been most handy when Warner drops stuff under tables at restaurants ;-)

News apps for WaPo, NPR, and NYT

    Open Table

    Yelp

    The Weather Channel

And this is random, but DocuScanner has been great...works just almost as well as a regular scanner and is a TON faster.

  • I just got an iPhone about a month ago and I looooove it. Here are the apps I've found so far:

    Color Splash
    camera+
    Instagram
    Netflix
    Pandora Radio
    Shazam (song recognition)
    Washington Post
    Amazon
    ShopSavvy (bar code price scanner)
    Pinterest
    Etsy
    Fandango
    AllRecipes
Google Translate (not terribly reliable, but fun nonetheless)
    Kayak
    TripAdvisor
