Real Christmas Tree Prices?

Anyone know what the range is for a real Christmas tree? After 9 years of asking, DH finally has agreed to let me get a real tree this year.  I just want to make sure we can budget it appropriately before heading out to pick out our tree.

Re: Real Christmas Tree Prices?

  • ours was like $70?  it is apx. 7 foot fir tree. the firs (short soft needles) cost more than the pines (long needles) b/c they take longer to grow.  i'd guess you'd spend somewhere between $50-100 depending on how big of a tree you'd like for a fir, and $30-70 on a pine?

  • We didn't go to a tree farm, but we got our fir at Menards for $28
  • oh ya, i guess i didn't think about that.  i'm sure that you can get cheaper prices with all the precut ones at the discount stores.  for me the tree is all about the experience. i have really fond memories of cutting down our own tree every year growing up. if we didn't do that, we'd just get an artificial b/c they make some great fakes now and they are so much easier/less messy.  but you'd at least get the good smell if you bought a precut.

  • Thanks Ladies! I thought about going to Menards and depending what the weather finally decides to do tomorrow, might still do that.  But, like one of you said, it's more the experience and memories I want to build for the girls since they're both old enough this year.
