Have a laugh....

I mentioned to my mom that I'm soo exhausted and sleep deprived but mostly because DS still sleeps with me. a.) you never get rested sleep when sleeping with a child b.) he is difficult to sleep with anyway because he kicks you in the back, snuggles and is a hotbox. During the summer we put my twin bed from storage in my room so my sister could stay with us while home from college for an internship.

My mom my suggested that one of us sleep in my bed and the other sleep in the twin so we both get sleep. I let him choose and of course he chose my bed. I told him that mommy was going to sleep in the other bed then. DS says, "that's a great idea mommy", then knocks my stuff off my side of the bed, places his pillow there and makes himself comfortable then proceeds to watch his movie.

I have now been demoted to the twin bed while my three yr old sleeps in the queen. WTF is wrong with this picture.

  • Haha!  I don't have children, but to me that seems like the ultimate scarafice!

  • Hahaha!  You're a good mommy.  I think it's time for some twin sized superhero sheets and blanket for Christmas :)

You're a much better mommy than me!  I wouldn't be giving DD a choice.

    This is a great idea!!!!

  • Maybe try switching him in the twin from the large bed when he is in deep sleep?

You are an awesome momma but you totally deserve the larger bed.

  • It's a work in progress. When we move he definitely will get the twin bed since he hates his toddler bed so much. It only lasted until about 2 am last night then he woke up screaming for me. I at least got deep sleep for the few hours I had. I try to give him choices so that he can be independent. It's also part of his personality being able to choose things and knows what he likes.

I'm still laughing about this today. My little stinker.

  • I have been to the point where I was so exhausted I would have done the same thing! Good thing DD took to her crib after 10 months of hating it!
