With colder weather approaching, I thought I'd ask if anyone had new ideas to add to the toddler (and preschooler) activity list. I sort of made a run though to update a little but but surely there are some activities that I'm missing.
What winter activities are you doing with your kid(s)?

Re: winter kids' activities?
check pinterest. they have SOO many toddler activities.
We made a discovery bottle last night (pop bottle with stuff inside then fill with water, baby oil and food coloring and glue the lid on)
Paint the bath tub (shaving cream and food coloring in a muffin tin and no water in the tub)
Volcano?s (baking soda on a cookie sheet then in cups mix food coloring and vinegar and use an eye dropper to make volcanos
Your list is pretty awesome.
This is totally seasonal but we like to look at the Christmas tree displays at different stores. The Earl May way out on Hickman has some nice ones and plus they have a nice cat that lives there.
In the spring (like march? around easter?) Tractor Supply company in Ankeny has chicks and bunnies for sale that Michael likes looking at.
I also think the downtown library has a really fun children's area.
You can buy a punch card to swim at the AmericInn in Grimes (it is super cheap). I know our neighbors do this frequently in the wintertime but I haven't been yet.
Where IS that place? I can't quite put my finger on what is around it.
I have no idea! LOL
the community center is in the strip of Valley Junction stores (on the east side) ... maybe across from WDM Human Services -- unless it moved over the last couple of years : ).
we like going to the DSM downtown public library (and over to starbucks next door!). also, we like going through the downtown to grab lunch and follow the skywalk system ... toddlers love watching the cars below : ).
