Wedding Album

My husband and I have been married over 3 years, but have been too lazy to choose photos for our wedding album until now.  When we finally finished the task last night, I emailed our wedding photographer, only to get the email kicked back.  Upon further research, I think they either shut down their practice or moved to another state.  In any case, I have all the full res files on disc, but I want to buy an album from a professional, rather than just compiling one on line.  Does anyone know local photographers who will do this?  I expect to spend a decent amount on this, I just want something beautiful that I can keep forever.  If anyone has any recommendations for where I can get this done, that would be very helpful.  Thanks!

Re: Wedding Album

  • I don't have a local photog rec, but we used Black River Imaging for our book at the recommendation of a friend who uses them for her pro photog business.  They were amazing quality and shipped really quickly.  The software was slightly annoying, but nothing unmanageable.  I paid 1/3 of what my photog quoted me for the mounted album there so I could get one for each set of parents and one for us.

  • This is not what you're asking for, but one thing you may want to try is Picaboo, which has an auto-create option for photo books if you have all the files on CD. You may be pleasantly surprised!

  • I highly recommend you get your album professionally designed.  I can recommend a great photographer who does awesome wedding album design. Check out an example of her work here: http://www.imcreativephotography.com/?page_id=665
She designs each page herself and I love the way she incorporates photos in the background.

  • I'd also like to rec our wedding photographer who also did our album - Michelle Frankfurter, www.mfphotos.com - she's a great person, great photographer and did a fantastic job on our album.  I think I still have an online version ours if you'd like to get some sense of layout and stuff - her's is the flush-mounted pages.

  • Not local, but Graphistudio designed our album and did a really good job.
