I just got back from an appt with my doctor to discuss next steps given our trouble TTC. It has now been a year, with 13 unsuccessful cycles, and all the tests so far show that there are no obvious problems.
We were originally keen to progress slowly with treatments, starting with Clomid and then multiple IUI cycles before maybe moving on to IVF. However I just recently found out that my insurance coverage is phasing out infertility coverage by June 30, 2012 and will only cover up to 3 treated cycles before that. So we wanted to talk to the dr and put together a plan given this change.
After talking things through with him, I think we have a plan - given holidays and travel, we will probably aim to do two cycles of clomid and IUI starting in February. If unsuccessful, probably do a therapeutic laprascopic surgery to investigate potential underlying issues, and then depending on the outcome of that, go back to IUI or maybe move on to IVF. I hate to think that we still won't be pg that far out, but it's nice to have a plan in place.
On another note, we'll be in NYC next week, and I know I mentioned I'm excited to catch up with friends and family, but I'm also a little anxious about how I'm going to handle the two new babies we'll see and a good friend who is 6mos pg. On top of the questions we're sure to get, especially from MIL. I'm happy for all of them, but it does sting a little bit. At least DH and I are on the same page about being very vague regarding where we are in the TTC process.
Anyways, sorry this got so long. I should be Oing today or tomorrow, and I'm kinda hoping for a nice BFP in time for Christmas, so that this is all a non-issue.
Re: Update
I am glad to hear that there is a plan in place, however I will send you vibes that you will get your BFP this month and none of the other treatment is necessary!
Good luck meeting with friends, I hope that you will make it through without feeling to uncomfortable. (I know easier said then done). I will be thinking of you!

Sounds like your appointment we pretty well. I think it's great you are getting a plan in place to move forward, it's so frustrating feeling like your stuck spinning your wheels.
I'm praying for a Christmas miracle for you, but if not I wish you luck in February! Also good luck next week with your MIL and all the babies and pregnancy's you'll be around, it know it's tough.
If you ever want to talk I'm here for you, I'm just a couple of months behind you in the TTC process.
Glad you were able to make a plan. I hope your BFP shows up before then!
I hope your plan won't be needed, but I'm glad you've got one in place anyway! Sending vibes your way for a holiday BFP! good luck!
I'm on the same timeline with you as far as unsuccessfully TTC (we're on cycle #14), so if you ever want to vent, I'm here with open ears. It's definitely tough, and seeing people with babies and newly KU is extremely difficult, but the best you can do is stay positive and be happy for those around you.

I'm glad your doctor was so proactive and set up a plan, also its nice that you at least have some insurance coverage for at least a little while longer. Hopefully clomid does the trick or you get a surprise before then!
Re: the stinging of babies and those pg, even though I'm pregnant now I still feel the sting when people gloat their pregnancies, announce early on fb, or just say asinine things. I thought'd I'd be over it, but I guess it's just the "taking it for granted attitude" or naivity (sp) I wish I could have back. I hope the trip isn't too bad, I found being around babies wasn't as bad as sitting with people talking about them. I hope your MIL minds her business too!
Keeping my FX for you!!

Thanks for the support all, it really means a lot. Not sure how much I'll be online while I'm travelling, but I'll let you know how it went when we get back.
Also, there seems to be something in the water up in Canadaland, so hopefully you all can spare some for me when I'm there this weekend
Bailey and Mandee - thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that. It's always nice to have someone to talk to who understands what you're going through. I'm hoping for BFPs for both of you soon!

If you have questions about the RE's office, procedures etc let me know. As one of the IFers on here I'm always here to listen.
Even having Myles, it still stings every time someone announces a pregnancy, I'm not sure when that part goes away. As for being around babies ( I know my situation is very different) but it took me a long time to be around babies. However, before losing the triplets being around babies that were already born was fine, it was just pregnant women that bummed me out.
We're all behind you 100%
