Suggestions for food delivery in St. Louis Park & St. Paul areas?

With my new job, I've been given the task of ordering food for monthly staff meetings. We have a location in St. Paul (Como Avenue) and St. Louis Park (West End).

Suggestions?

Re: Suggestions for food delivery in St. Louis Park & St. Paul areas?

  • What is your budget, how many people are there? Any vegetarians? How do you characterize the staff? Hip and ready to try something out of the ordinary, or more conservative meat and potatoes crowd?
  • You could use a place like Creative Corporate Catering. I used them a few times for work when we got sick of the usual Damico and Jimmy Johns delivery. Here is the website http://www.meetingmeals.com/. I found out about them when they came to the office I work at and brought a catered lunch for us while they gave us a quick run down of how they work.

  • What about Lund's or Byerly's?

....good lord, I miss those stores....

  • I used Wells Catering a lot when I worked in pharmaceutical sales. They deliver everywhere. We used them for our rehearsal dinner too. http://wellscatering.com/Corporte%20menu%20(2)%5B1%5D.pdf

All of their food is good. I usually did the taco bar or baked potato bar for lunches. We had pasta for our rehearsal dinner. One was seafood alfredo and it had huge shrimp in it. So good!

I think Potbelly delivers. Davanni delivers and has good items other than pizza- hoaggie platter, lasagna, salads. I love Chilis or Macaroni Grill if you can find someone to pick it up.

My memory is failing me. I'll try to remember more...

ETA: Also the Big Bowl To-Go in Byerly's has really good large platters of food. You can order one of their asian salads with a couple noodle or rice platters. So good. They don't deliver though:(

Some of the girls were just asking for a taco bar!

To the pp: my budget is $7/person. Some meetings we order for 25-30 people and some meetings are 45-50.

There are two vegetarians and for the most part I think people are up for anything.

  • Where on Como? H and I used to live on Como and Hamline (right by Como Park/Zoo.)  I'll be honest; nothing delivered over there besides pizza and a few Chinese places.  I think it was too South to get the Roseville deliveries and too East to get the U of M campus deliveries. :(

If you're looking for pizza ever (or calzones, etc), there's a little family-owned place on the corner of Como and Snelling. It's called Bascali's (looks like their website is down right now.)

There's a fantastic Gyro/Pizza place on Como (SE) way over by the U of M.  I'm not sure if they deliver, but they cater.  I'm guessing your groups are big enough.  It's cheap too!  Crescent Moon: http://www.crescentmoonfoods.net/
